Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde are clearly on the same fashion wavelength.<\/p>\n

This week, the new couple practically broke the internet by showing up at Styles\u2019 agent Jeff Azoff\u2019s wedding wearing coordinating Gucci looks and matching face masks by The Vampire\u2019s Wife \u2014\u00a0and that\u2019s not the only time they\u2019ve twinned.<\/p>\n

Over the past several days, both Styles, 26, and Wilde, 36, have made a case for the return of a preppy style staple: the old-school argyle sweater.<\/p>\n

In the pop star\u2019s new music video for \u201cTreat People With Kindness,\u201d he performs a rollicking dance routine with co-star Phoebe Waller-Bridge, with both wearing identical embellished argyle vests custom-made by Gucci\u2019s Alessandro Michele.<\/p>\n

Fans couldn\u2019t get enough of the matching moment. \u201cSo far I\u2019ve spent a considerable amount of 2021 browsing for the perfect sequin argyle sweater vest,\u201d one tweeted<\/a>, while another asked the singer<\/a>, \u201cCan you sell the argyle vests as merch \u2026 I\u2019m begging.\u201d<\/p>\n

Then, on Wednesday, Styles and Wilde were spotted strolling (and showing PDA) in Santa Barbara, with the \u201cDon\u2019t Worry Darling\u201d director looking cozy in La Ligne\u2019s \u201cCampbell\u201d sweater<\/a> ($375) \u2014\u00a0a cropped argyle style in camel-colored cashmere.<\/p>\n

To be fair, the famous lovebirds are far from the only ones embracing diamond-patterned knitwear these days. Designers including Miu Miu, Balmain and Christian Dior all showed argyle styles on their Fall 2020 runways, and stars like Bella Hadid, Katie Holmes and Victoria Beckham have also rocked argyle in recent weeks.<\/p>\n

Still, as one eagle-eyed fan put it on Twitter<\/a>: \u201cOlivia\u2019s argyle moment days after Harry\u2019s argyle moment can\u2019t be a coincidence.\u201d<\/p>\n
