Luckily HGTV\u2019s very own home renovation guru Ty Pennington has breezy and inexpensive ideas for giving your space a fresh feel.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSome of the small things really have a huge effect,\u201d Pennington told The Post.<\/p>\n<p>The carpenter, designer and former \u201cExtreme Makeover: Home Edition\u201d host is bringing down the house once again in HGTV\u2019s latest <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a> <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hgtv.com\/shows\/hgtv-news\/ty-breaker-designers\">\u201cTy Breaker,\u201d<\/a> which premieres on Jan. 11. But if you\u2019re looking to cook with a new look, there are cost effective ways to get it done.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think people have fear around painting their cabinets, but it\u2019s so easy \u2014 and if it\u2019s done right, you can really make a difference,\u201d Victoria told The Post.<\/p>\n<p>To get started, pop your cabinet doors and drawer fronts off \u2014 most hinges will release easily \u2014 and sand them down with sandpaper. Brush on a fresh coat of paint to set a new tone. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cBring in a bright, h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>y color \u2014 whatever that means to you,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Chalk paint, which provides a matte, vintage look, is a great option, and you can even extend the color down the sides of the kitchen island, if you have one. The whole upgrade should use only a gallon or two of paint, which won\u2019t break the bank. Pennington said that on one episode of \u201cTy Breaker,\u201d two families with kids had merged when the single parents got together. But if you\u2019re lucky enough to have a guest bathroom \u2014 or a \u201cpowder room,\u201d which is a half-bath without a tub or a shower \u2014 that\u2019s a great place to refresh, said Victoria. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe powder room is such a special space and a place for your guests to go, \u2018Well this is memorable!\u2019\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>A fresh coat of paint can make any room sing, and a bathroom is no exception, she said. For an extra splash of personality, Victoria recommends taking a trowel to the wet paint and making freehand windshield-wiper motions, to add some waterfall-like shapes to the wall (she did this in her home).<\/p>\n<p>Also, think about sprucing up bland finishes \u2014 such as the mirror or sconces \u2014 and replacing them with glam ones.
