President Trump railed against Twitter Friday night, blasting the social media giant for \u201cbanning free speech\u201d and hinting that he \u201cwill have a big announcement soon\u201d in which he\u2019ll designate some other platform to carry his messages.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will not be SILENCED!\u201d he said \u2014 resorting to an old-fashioned press release to get the statement out.<\/p>\n

\u201cTwitter is not about FREE SPEECH,\u201d he wrote. <\/p>\n

\u201cThey are all about promoting a Radical Left Platform where some of the most vicious people in the world are allowed to speak freely.\u201d<\/p>\n

Trump had to release the statement directly to reporters covering the White House.<\/p>\n

Earlier Friday, Twitter banned his civilian, @RealDonaldTrump account entirely. <\/p>\n

And when he tried to issue Friday night\u2019s statement on his government @POTUS account<\/a>, Twitter censored it, while leaving the account online.<\/p>\n

Muzzled on one account and censored on the other, Trump\u2019s statement lasted about the length of three of his formerly beloved tweets: <\/p>\n

\u201cAs I have been saying for a long time, Twitter has gone further and further in banning free speech, and tonight, Twitter employees have coordinated with the Democrats and the Radical Left in removing my account from their platform, to silence me \u2014 and YOU, the 75,000,000 great patriots who voted for me. Twitter may be a private company, but without the government\u2019s gift of Section 230 they would not exist for long.<\/p>\n

\u201cI predicted this would happ<\/a>en. We have been negotiating with various other sites, and will have a big announcement soon, while we also look at the possibilities of building out our own platform in the near future. We will not be SILENCED!<\/p>\n
