A high-ranking NYPD cop who had reassigned after accusations he posted hundreds of vile, racist remarks online has now been suspended without pay, The Post has learned.<\/p>\n

James Francis Kobel \u2014 a 30-year-veteran and the former commanding officer of the NYPD\u2019s Office of Equal Employment Opportunity \u2014 was placed on administrative leave on Jan. 7th, law enforcement sources said Saturday. <\/p>\n

Kobel, 50, had been reassigned to the Transit Borough Command for the Bronx and Queens on Nov. 16 after the allegations surfaced. <\/p>\n

The 30-year veteran of the force was transferred following a damning investigation by the City Council\u2019s oversight committee.<\/p>\n

The committee found he had hidden behind the username \u201cClouseau\u201d to post \u201cracist, misogynistic, anti-Semitic and homophobic sentiments\u201d on the \u201cThe Rant,\u201d a notorious message board used by cops to complain about their jobs.<\/p>\n

He posted racist comments some 500 times between the summer of 2019 and fall 2020, the committee\u2019s probe had found.<\/p>\n

Among his slurs, Kobel called Bronx District Attorney Darcel Clark \u201ca gap-toothed wildebeest,\u201d referred to former President Barack Obama as a \u201cMuslim-savage,\u201d and called Mayor Bill de Blasio\u2019s son, Dante, a \u201cbrillohead,\u201d according to the 13-page report. <\/p>\n

He\u2019s previously denied he\u2019s written the racist messages online. <\/p>\n

\u201cI am unfamiliar with any of these posts,\u201d Kobel told the New York Times<\/a>. \u201cI\u2019m unfamiliar with \u2018Clouseau.\u2019 I don\u2019t post on The Rant.\u201d\n <\/div>\n
