Cartoon Nostradamus has done it again.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Simpsons\u201d is once more being credited with predicting history decades before it happ<\/a>ened. <\/p>\n

Fans of the 31-year-old animated TV series<\/a> were quick to credit two episodes of the show with anticipating the angry mob of President Donald Trump supporters who vandalized and attempted insurrection at the Capitol on Wednesday. <\/p>\n

\u201cSimpsons predicted it many years ago,\u201d tweeted<\/a> Francis Creaven, along with a clip from the 1996 episode \u201cThe Day the Violence Died.\u201d In it, a freshly ratified, anthropomorphic amendment to the Constitution that makes it \u201clegal for policemen to beat \u2026 those liberal freaks\u201d is held atop the Capitol Hill steps. \u201cDoors open, boys,\u201d the amendment calls as a horde of gun-shooting, bomb-throwing amendments holler and run up the steps. <\/p>\n

Earlier in the episode, the amendment sings a conservative parody version of the \u201cSchoolhouse Rock\u201d song \u201cI\u2019m Just a Bill,\u201d proposing it be made legal for cops to beat flag-burners. Should the amendment not be ratified, he threatens to \u201ccrush all opposition to me, and I\u2019ll make Ted Kennedy pay \u2014 if he fights back, I\u2019ll say that he\u2019s gay.\u201d <\/p>\n

More recently, last year\u2019s annual \u201cTreehouse of Horror\u201d Halloween episode is also being credited with predicting the trail of destruction left by the pro-Trump \u201cthugs\u201d this week. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe Simpsons prediction for 1\/20\/21,\u201d reads one viral tweet<\/a> featuring a screenshot bearing the date \u201cJANUARY 20th, 2021\u201d and showing an armed and armored Homer sitting atop a residential roof as the world burns beneath darkened skies all around him. <\/p>\n

In the episode, which aired on Nov. 1, 2020, Homer falls asleep and dreams of voting, missing his actual opportunity to vote. The town then appears on Inauguration Day, in ruins, with security robots filling the streets. The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse appear bearing flags reading \u201cpestilence,\u201d \u201cfamine,\u201d \u201cwar\u201d and \u201cTreehouse of Horror XXXI.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cThe Simpsons\u201d have previously been credited with predicting the coronavirus, murder hornets and numerous other future happenings.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
