“#Tech bans are ‘assault on everybody’<\/strong>”

Parler CEO Mark Matze said Sunday that the \u201cdevastating\u201d Big Tech ban of the right-wing app<\/a> could put the company out of business, calling it \u201can assault on everybody.\u201d<\/p>\n

His comment came a day after Amazon kicked the booming app off its web hosting services.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s devastating is what it is,\u201d Matze said on Fox News<\/a>. \u201cThey all work together to make sure at the same time we would lose access to not only our apps, but they\u2019re actually shutting all of our servers off tonight, off the internet.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThey made an attempt to not only kill the app, but to actually destroy the entire company,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd it\u2019s not just these three companies. <\/p>\n

\u201cEvery vendor from text message services to email providers to our lawyers all ditched us too on the same day,\u201d Matze said.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, Amazon joined tech giants Apple and Google in suspending Parler from its servers, citing an increase in violent content on the site.<\/p>\n

The social networking service had become a favorite of right-wingers and supporters of President Trump after popular sites like Twitter and Facebook<\/a> began blocking or adding disclaimers to some posts, including Trump\u2019s tweets. <\/p>\n

But critics complain that Parler, which had nearly 1.5 million downloads this weekend alone, was increasingly home to violent rhetoric, including prior to the siege of the US Capitol last week by extremists and Trump supporters.<\/p>\n

Google was first to ban the app from its store, followed by Apple. <\/p>\n

Matze argued Sunday that \u201cthey\u2019re trying to falsely claim that we\u2019re somehow responsible for the events that occurred on the 6th,\u201d referring to the riot on Wednesday. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt would put anybody out of business,\u201d he said of the tech bans. \u201cThis thing could destroy anybody.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re going to try our best to get back online as quickly as possible but we\u2019re having a lot of trouble because every vendor we talk to says they won\u2019t work with us,\u201d he said. \u201cBecause if Apple doesn\u2019t approve and Google doesn\u2019t approve, they won\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019ve given us no legitimate remedy,\u201d Matze added. \u201cThey just don\u2019t want us on the internet. They want to get rid of us.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n
