A Brooklyn woman jumped from the roof of a 12-story Hell\u2019s Kitchen building on Sunday while clutching her 5-year-old daughter \u2014 killing them both, police and friends said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Oksana Patchin, 39, and the girl, Olivia Patchin, plunged from the building at 540 W. 53rd St. at about 1:40 p.m. and were rushed to St. Luke\u2019s Roosevelt Hospital, where they were pronounced dead, police and sources said.<\/p>\n

\u201cEverything was going great with her,\u201d a family friend said. \u201cI can\u2019t believe this. This is terrible.\u201d<\/p>\n

Police sources and building residents said the mother, a Prospect Heights resident, was visiting her friend in the building when she jumped.<\/p>\n

Oksana had asked the friend for her key card, claiming she wanted to show her daughter the rooftop view, police sources said.<\/p>\n

Once on the roof, cameras captured the mother pacing around, before climbing over a safety gate, picking up her daughter and leaping off, sources said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt really shook me up that it happ<\/a>ened,\u201d said a tenant who asked to be identified only as Bryan. \u201cIt\u2019s very, very disturbing.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to Oksana\u2019s social media<\/a> profiles, she is a native of Ukraine and later studied accounting in New York.<\/p>\n

Law-enforcement sources said the woman divorced her husband over the summer and had been living with her mother.<\/p>\n

She did not leave a suicide note, sources said.<\/p>\n

One tenant at the Hell\u2019s Kitchen building came out in tears Sunday and told reporters that the mother had been \u201cvery distraught.\u201d<\/p>\n

The tenant did not provide further details.<\/p>\n

The city Administration for Children\u2019s Services said it was investigating but could not disclose details of any cases.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur top priority is protecting the safety and welfare of all children in New York City,\u201d an ACS spokesperson said. \u201cWe are investigating this case with the NYPD.\u201d<\/p>\n

The tragedy comes three weeks after a Brooklyn woman jumped to her death from the towering Vessel structure at Hudson Yards.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The woman, Yocheved Gourarie, 24, of Crown Heights, had detailed her struggles with anorexia and depression on her Instagram account, where she also left a farewell post that appeared days after her death.\u00a0<\/p>\n
