During the conversation, the former Slaughterhouse member brought up Gibbs\u2019 recent Twitter jabs at LL COOL J and while Gibbs initially tried to downplay it as harmless \u201cinternet jokes,\u201d he insisted he didn\u2019t have any issues with the Def Jam Recordings legend.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo fucking way,\u201d he told Budden in the clip. \u201cNo way, me and LL do not have beef, man. How can I have beef with LL Cool J? I mean, you think wrong, Mr. Budden. I mean, you know, maybe if this was 90-somethin\u2019 or 80-somethin\u2019, you know, LL is \u2026 that\u2019s Jack The Ripper. I respect LL. LL has done it too many times. He did it to Canibus, what\u2019d you think he gonna to you, bro? Honestly. Tell the truth.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While Gibbs insisted he wasn\u2019t \u201cworried about it,\u201d Budden said it would only be funny until LL replied, adding, \u201cI think LL would welcome the smoke from Freddie Gibbs and I think he\u2019d think it would be a sleepwalk.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In November 2020, Gibbs drudged up LL\u2019s\u00a0controversial collaboration with country singer Brad Paisley, \u201cAccidental Racist,\u201d which arrived on Paisley\u2019s 2013 album <em>Wheelhouse.<\/em> The song is based on Paisley\u2019s experience wearing a Lynard Skynard t-shirt featuring a Confederate flag and LL rapping lines such as, \u201cRIP Robert E. Lee\/But I\u2019ve gotta thank Abraham Lincoln for freeing me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gibbs earned his first Grammy Award nomination in the Best Rap Album category for <em>Alfredo,<\/em> his collaborative album with The Alchemist.
