Carmaker Ford said Monday it would close its factories in Brazil this year as the impacts of the coronavirus epidemic hammered sales in Latin America.<\/p>\n

“Ford Brazil will cease production at Camacari, Taubate and Troller plants during 2021, as the COVID-19 pandemic amplifies persistent industry idle capacity and slow sales that have resulted in years of significant losses,” the company said in a statement.<\/p>\n

Bloomberg said some 5,000 workers would be affected.\n <\/p>\n\n
