Shamir has shared the video for \u201cDiet,\u201d from last year\u2019s Shamir<\/em>. The clip was directed by Shamir and Christina Thompson, and features the Philadelphia artist in various locations around Lake Tahoe. Check out the video below.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThe origin of the song is pretty dark, taking inspiration from the film My Friend Dahmer,<\/em>\u201d Shamir explained in a press statement. \u201cBut the deeper meaning of the song is less about the gore or even Jeffrey Dahmer and more about the battle we all have with our darker urges and\/or neurosis that tend to app<\/a>ear during our adolescence\/pubescent years and how that plays a part in developing our moral compass.\u201d<\/p>\n

Shamir released two albums last year: Cataclysm<\/em><\/a> in March and Shamir<\/em> in October; the latter featured the singles \u201cOn My Own\u201d and \u201cI Wonder.\u201d<\/p>\n
