“#Dustin Diamond Confirms Stage 4 Cancer Diagnosis

\nSad news<\/a> for OG Saved by the Bell<\/em> fans.<\/p>\n

As we previously reported, Dustin Diamond<\/strong>, AKA Screech Powers, was hospitalized earlier this week and feared that cancer might be the cause of his pain and discomfort. Unfortunately, his suspicions proved correct, as the actor\u2019s reps have confirmed to multiple outlets that he has received a cancer diagnosis.<\/p>\n

Representatives for the \u201990s star told People<\/em>:<\/p>\n

\u201cWe can confirm that Dustin does have cancer. It\u2019s very serious, though we are still waiting for more details, which we will have shortly. \u2026 He\u2019s in a lot of pain.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Elsewhere, his rep confirmed to Entertainment Weekly<\/em> that it is in fact stage four cancer. The concerns began with a \u201chuge lump in his throat,\u201d though in another statement to TMZ<\/em> his rep revealed that the disease has spread throughout his body.<\/p>\n

They explained to EW<\/em>:<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s undergoing chemo so he will be there at least another week and then we will figure out when he gets to come home. By next week, we\u2019ll have a much better understanding of the severity of his condition and what treatments he will need so that he\u2019s comfortable.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

While the 44-year-old is now feeling \u201cfine,\u201d his spokesperson shared of his admission to the hospital:<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was fading in and out, feeling sleepy and tired. On top of all this he also has shingles, so he\u2019s been in a lot of pain.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

In an official statement (below) on Dustin\u2019s Facebook<\/a><\/strong> page, his team asked for prayers and positivity from friends and fans, adding an address where folks might send the sitcom alum their well-wishes.<\/p>\n
