\n With Amazon bringing Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz’s lives to the small screen in\u00a0Being the Ricardos<\/em> \u2014 and the controversial casting announced \u2014 it’s impossible not to look back at Will & Grace<\/em>‘s<\/a> tribute to the iconic\u00a0I Love Lucy<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

After\u00a0Deadline<\/em>‘s<\/a> report that Nicole Kidman<\/a> and Javier Bardem were being eyed for a movie on the streaming service, fans, as they always do, had thoughts. One of the other names raised was someone who has stepped into Lucy’s shoes recently: Debra Messing<\/a>, who, while starring as Grace on the NBC comedy, played Lucy in an iconic sketch.<\/p>\n

Messing retweeted a fan’s opinion<\/a> that the actress “is a better comedia<\/a>n” in a thread discussing the casting. The\u00a0Will & Grace<\/em> star also wrote in a tweet<\/a>\u00a0that she is “available” when a fan speculated scheduling was involved.<\/p>\n

The Amazon film will take place during the production of an episode of\u00a0I Love Lucy<\/em>, from the table read to the filming in front of an audience “when Lucy and Desi face a crisis that could end their careers and another that could end their marriage.”<\/p>\n
