Liam Neeson is\u00a0\u201cTaken\u201d\u00a0a\u00a0permanent break from kicking bad guy butt.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Putting his menacing \u201cI will find you and I will kill you\u201d threats to bed, Neeson, 68, announced Thursday that he is taking his very particular set of skills and retiring from the action movie genre.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m 68\u00bd \u2014 69 this year,\u201d the Oscar nominee explained on \u201cEntertainment Tonight<\/a>.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s a couple more I\u2019m going to do this year \u2014 hopefully, COVID allowing us \u2014 there\u2019s a couple in the pipeline and then I think that will probably be it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, unless I\u2019m on a Zimmer frame<\/a> or something,\u201d Neeson added, joking he\u2019d need a walker to continue violently vanquishing villains as he\u2019s done in high-octane hits such as \u201cTaken,\u201d \u201cNon-Stop\u201d and forthcoming feature film \u201cThe Marksman.\u201d<\/p>\n

Facing off with drug cartel assassins as an ex-Marine-turned-defender of a young Mexican boy in \u201cThe Marksman,\u201d set for release Friday, Neeson admitted he\u2019ll miss the fisticuffs of thriller flicks.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI love doing \u2019em,\u201d he said. \u201cI love beating up guys half my age.\u201d<\/p>\n

But Neeson recently realized the beatings were taking more of a toll on him while shooting his other upcoming blockbuster, \u201cBacklight.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve just finished [\u2018Blacklight\u2019] in Australia and I had a fight scene with a kid \u2014 lovely, sweet actor called Taylor,\u201d said the Northern Irishman, who\u2019s received honors from the queen herself<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd halfway through the fight I looked up, I was breathless and it didn\u2019t cost him a cent, and I said, \u2018Taylor, what age are you?\u2019 He said, \u201825.\u2019 I said, \u2018That\u2019s the age of my eldest son [Miche\u00e1l Richardson]!\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

The star of \u201cThe Dark Knight Rises\u201d previously denounced doing any more superhero movies \u2014 noting his disdain for having to \u201cgo into the gym for three hours every day to pump myself up to squeeze into a Velcro suit with a cape.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nonetheless, Neeson is honored by fans\u2019 demands that he reprise his role as Zeus from \u201cClash of the Titans\u201d to star alongside Gal Gadot as her omnipotent father in \u201cWonder Woman 3.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI guess so, sure. I mean, I\u2019m very flattered!,\u201d the box-office boomer said, before revealing\u00a0that he didn\u2019t know Zeus is Wonder Woman\u2019s dad.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI wasn\u2019t aware that the ancient Greek gods app<\/a>eared in \u2018Wonder Woman.\u2019 I have to say, much to my chagrin, I haven\u2019t seen kind of the \u2018Wonder Woman\u2019 movies.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Once brought up to speed on comic book lore, Neeson said with a cheeky grin: \u201cI\u2019ll call my agent!\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n
