Hollywood star Armie Hammer loves to barbecue, friends say. His Instagram is full of photos of raw meat<\/a>, grilled ribs<\/a>, pigs\u2019 heads<\/a> and big<\/a> knives<\/a>. For one photo of a grill, he posted<\/a>: \u201cHave you ever seen anything sexier?\u201d<\/p>\n

But his hobby made shocking headlines this week when a recent ex-girlfriend revealed how the 34-year-old \u201cCall Me By Your Name\u201d actor fantasized about which of her body parts he\u2019d like to roast and devour.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe said to me he wants to break my rib and barbecue and eat it,\u201d Courtney Vucekovich exclusively told Page Six.<\/p>\n

The claims by Vucekovich, known for creating the \u201con-demand glam\u201d app<\/a> Flashd, came days after the revelation of Hammer\u2019s messages about rape fantasies and cannibalism.<\/p>\n

In one DM, shared by the anonymous Instagram account @HouseofEffie, Hammer allegedly told a partner he wished to \u201ccut off one of your toes and keep it with me in my pocket so I always had a piece of you in my possession.\u201d<\/p>\n

In another, he allegedly described himself as \u201c100 percent a cannibal.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hammer\u2019s representative did not answer a request for comment.<\/p>\n

This has come as a shock not just to his friends, but his ex-wife Elizabeth Chambers, with whom he is in the midst of an already difficult divorce.<\/p>\n

They are both currently on the Cayman Islands, where Chambers has been living with their two young children since they split over the summer.<\/p>\n

A family friend told The Post that Chambers, who filed for divorce in July, is \u201creally in shock\u201d and has \u201cnot processed any of this yet,\u201d adding: \u201cThey went out to the Cayman Islands at the beginning of the pandemic in March as a family and Armie left in late June to go back to California.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe\u2019s basically been a single mom since then, Armie didn\u2019t see the kids for five months. The kids are her number one priority, so on top of all the emotional stuff she has two kids to take to school and make sure they\u2019re not affected.\u201d<\/p>\n

The friend added: \u201cElizabeth was aware of some infidelity, but she wanted to make the marriage work and thought that he did too.\u201d<\/p>\n

Several sources said that Hammer had been madly in love with Chambers. But a major Hollywood publicist told The Post how, once \u201cCall Me By Your Name\u201d boosted his fame, \u201cwomen were texting him, chasing him \u2014 and when he would drink, that\u2019s when he\u2019d run around. Everyone thought he and Elizabeth decided to have an open marriage.\u201d<\/p>\n

A representative for Chambers had no comment.<\/p>\n

\u201c[These messages] are very shocking for her,\u201d Chambers\u2019 friend added. \u201cHe never did any of the weird s-\u200a-t with her.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another source who knows both Hammer and Chambers said: \u201cMy mind is blown. He always appeared so totally normal, he loves grilling, I mean \u2014 he was so excited about buying a new smoker and he would have friends over for barbecues and cocktails.<\/p>\n

\u201cNone of this seems like the Armie that I know. He needs help. Something is terribly wrong, and I just wonder if it\u2019s drugs.\u201d<\/p>\n

This week, the Daily Mail published video clips of Hammer<\/a> declaring \u201cs\u2013t\u2019s getting weird\u201d after sniffing a white substance from someone\u2019s hand and swigging from his beer can while behind the wheel of a car.<\/p>\n

On Friday, the Daily Mail posted a video from what is alleged to be Hammer\u2019s secret Instagram account. The post said that he had \u201cTHC and benzos\u201d in his system but that the hallucinogenic drug DMT had not showed up in a drug test; he also showed what appeared to be a court mandate ordering him to undergo drug testing as a condition of seeing his children. In the background, a woman wearing lingerie while on her hands and knees in a bed was visible.<\/p>\n

\u201cDivorce is so fun. Not as fun as drugs. But what is,\u201d the post read.<\/p>\n

A movie insider who worked with Hammer on the set of the 2018 film \u201cOn the Basis of Sex,\u201d told The Post that \u201cHe would have a water bottle of vodka in the green room before going on TV [interviews] but other than that he was a gentleman.\u201d<\/p>\n

A source who has worked with Hammer told The Post that Hammer does \u201cnot have a drug habit\u201d but that he will drink heavily for weeks at a time. Asked about the messages, the source said: \u201cOf course Armie is not a cannibal \u2026 although BDSM might be weird, it\u2019s not illegal.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hammer, a 2018 Golden Globes nominee for Best Supporting Actor, has admitted he came close to \u201ccompletely losing\u201d his mind while with his family in the Caribbean, which went from a tropical paradise to \u201cdraconian lockdown\u201d during the pandemic.<\/p>\n

Hammer told British GQ in September that he was at his dad\u2019s apartment<\/a> with Chambers, their kids and his stepmother.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019d be looking out at the ocean, but couldn\u2019t go in the ocean; looking at the beach, but couldn\u2019t go on the beach. We couldn\u2019t leave the apartment, couldn\u2019t go in the pool, couldn\u2019t do anything,\u201d the actor said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a very complicated, intense situation, with big personalities all locked in a little tiny place \u2026 I\u2019d never dealt with anything like that before in my life, so I didn\u2019t have the tools,\u201d Hammer said.<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cI think, to be quite frank, I came very close to completely losing my mind.\u201d<\/p>\n

While in quarantine, Hammer and Chambers decided to split after 10 years of marriage. Her divorce filing cited irreconcilable differences, and the journalist and entrepreneur has asked the court to grant her primary physical custody of the children.<\/p>\n

Back in LA, Hammer embarked on a string of romances. He was seen canoodling with 22-year-old model Paige Lorenze and bakery owner Jessica Ciencin Henriquez, the ex-wife of actor Josh Lucas. But in October, just a month after she was first spotted with Hammer, Henriquez posted a telling meme to Instagram: \u201cHow It Started\u201d showed what appeared to be a paparazzi photo of her and Hammer on a lunch date; \u201cHow It\u2019s Going\u201d revealed that she had blocked the actor from her account.<\/p>\n

Henriquez spoke out this week, saying she believes the shocking cannibal\/rape messages \u201care real,\u201d and later wrote: \u201c\u2019It takes an army to hide a predator.\u201d She also posted a quote from Vucekovich\u2019s Page Six interview: \u201cHe blows up [women\u2019s] lives like that and walks away.\u201d<\/p>\n

A source close to Henriquez said she did not want to speak out any more, fearing for her safety and that of her children.<\/p>\n

However, after Lorenze took to Twitter<\/a> this week to post: \u201cAnyone got a good therapist?\u201d Henriquez replied: \u201cYeah girl, I\u2019ll send you her number.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Vucekovich, who dated Hammer from June to October, couldn\u2019t confirm whether the @HouseOfEffie screenshots were legitimate, but she said they were no surprise.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe likes the idea of skin in his teeth,\u201d she claimed. \u201cHe says, \u2018I want to take a bite out of you.\u2019 If I had a little cut on my hand, he\u2019d like suck it or lick it. That\u2019s about as weird as we got.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hammer comes from extreme privilege. In 2009, he appeared in a Vanity Fair spread of \u201cFortune\u2019s Children,\u201d<\/a> which features 38 heirs and heiresses \u2014 including Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner \u2014 heralded as \u201cthe next generation of some of the world\u2019s greatest fortunes.\u201d<\/p>\n

His great-grandfather, Dr. Armand Hammer, was an oil tycoon who ran Occidental Petroleum. When he died in 1990, he was reportedly worth around $200 million.<\/p>\n

The actor, the son of businessman Michael Armand Hammer and his wife Dru Ann Mobley, grew up in Dallas and then the Cayman Islands. \u201cMy dad saw the movie \u2018The Firm\u2019 and he thought it looked like paradise,\u201d he has said of his father\u2019s decision to move there.<\/p>\n

Telling VF that he was taunted as a child with the nickname \u201cBaking Soda Boy,\u201d Hammer has explained that his name has nothing to do with the Arm and Hammer brand. His great-grandfather was actually named for the arm-and-hammer logo of the Socialist Labor Party. Years later, the oil tycoon used the insignia for the flag on his yacht.<\/p>\n

Before he began acting, Hammer told VF, \u201cI tried college at UCLA. I gave it a fighting effort and I just couldn\u2019t do it.\u201d He reportedly got kicked out of high school for starting a fire and his \u201ctwo semesters\u201d of UCLA were actually two semesters of signing up for UCLA Extension classes and never showing up.<\/p>\n

He started out in TV, landing guest spots on shows like \u201cArrested Development\u201d and \u201cDesperate Housewives\u201d before his break: a recurring role on \u201cGossip Girl\u201d in 2009. A year later, he impressed audiences with his dual turn as the Winklevoss twins in the movie \u201cThe Social Network.\u201d That was followed by films like \u201cThe Lone Ranger\u201d and \u201cThe Man from U.N.C.L.E.\u201d that were supposed to make Hammer a big star, only to flop.<\/p>\n

His career seemed back on track with 2016\u2019s \u201cThe Birth of a Nation\u201d based on the story of Nat Turner, the enslaved man who led a slave rebellion in Southampton County, Va., in 1831.<\/p>\n

But following major Oscar buzz, the film was overshadowed by news<\/a> of a 1999 alleged rape that director and star Nate Parker was accused of having committed. (Parker was acquitted.)<\/p>\n

In 2019, many expected Hammer would receive an Oscar nod for \u201cCall Me By Your Name,\u201d in which Hammer played a college student who has an affair with a teenage boy, played by Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet. The film itself was nominated, as was Chalamet. Some Hollywood insiders think Hammer hurt his own chances by getting political. <\/p>\n

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Hammer argued that his \u201cBirth of a Nation\u201d director Nate Parker had unfairly suffered career backlash<\/a> \u2014 while actor Casey Affleck, was sued for sexual harassment by two female coworkers and had gone on to win an Oscar for \u201cManchester by the Sea.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cNate had the stuff in his past, which is heinous and tough to get beyond. I get that,\u201d he said. \u201cBut that was when he was 18, and now he\u2019s in directors jail. At the same time, the guy who went and won an Academy Award has three cases of sexual assault against him.\u201d (Hammer later apologized to Affleck.)<\/p>\n

What will happen to Hammer\u2019s own career now is anyone\u2019s guess. As Page Six reported, he has \u201cstepped down\u201d from a leading role in the Jennifer Lopez movie \u201cShotgun Wedding.\u201d<\/p>\n

The \u201cOn the Basis of Sex\u201d source believes this will \u201cundoubtedly\u201d hurt Hammer\u2019s career. \u201cHe is not box office gold \u2014 \u00a0you can\u2019t sell a film with him \u2014 so why would you hire him when there are so many other better actors without this kind of story swirling around them?\u201d<\/p>\n

Hammer released a statement that read in part: \u201cI\u2019m not responding to these bulls\u2013t claims but in light of the vicious and spurious online attacks against me, I cannot in good conscience<\/a> now leave my children for four months to shoot a film in the Dominican Republic.\u201d<\/p>\n

A casting director told The Post that Hammer is a cautionary tale for young Hollywood.<\/p>\n

\u201cUp till \u2018Call Me By Your Name,\u2019 nobody took him that seriously other than as a rich kid who wanted to get famous. He was in a lot of loser films before that,\u201d the casting director said. \u201cBut after \u2018Call Me,\u2019 he started getting much better offers and much more attention.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe seemed to be getting a bit of a God complex \u2014 like he\u2019s so famous and rich, he\u2019s above reproach. That can lead to some actors having very bad behavior.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n
