At least, that\u2019s what we\u2019re going to assume considering the track record of LGBTQ feature romances following 2019\u2019s\u00a0<em>Portrait of a Lady on Fire<\/em>, which <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ears to have kicked off a trend of lesbian romances set exclusively in the past, primarily featuring slim white women. But it is admittedly hard to resist a movie starring both acting heavyhitters\u00a0<strong>Katherine Waterston<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Vanessa Kirby<\/strong>. Watch\u00a0<strong><em>The World to Come<\/em><\/strong> trailer below.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_World_to_Come_Trailer\"><\/span>The World to Come Trailer<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"THE WORLD TO COME | Official Trailer I Bleecker Street\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/RhQu4tcHLeU?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><br \/>\n<!-- SlashFilm_300x250_In_Post -->Katherine Waterston and Vanessa Kirby embark on a fiery frontier romance in\u00a0<em>The World to Come<\/em> \u2014 literally, as at one point in the trailer, their surreptitious affair is interrupted by one of their houses getting set on fire, presumably by one of their disgruntled husbands, played by <strong>Casey Affleck<\/strong> and <strong>Christopher Abbott<\/strong>, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>But despite the dangers of getting jaded over this very specific type of recurring film trope (doomed queer romances set in the past),\u00a0<em>The World to Come<\/em> is getting real buzz, after premiering at the Venice International Film Festival to critical acclaim and taking home the Queer Lion for best LGBTQ-themed film.<\/p>\n<p>Based on Jim Shepard\u2019s story of the same name,\u00a0<em>The World to Come<\/em>\u00a0is a forbidden love story set in the 19th century, which follows two neighboring couples played by\u00a0Katherine Waterston,\u00a0Vanessa Kirby,\u00a0Christopher Abbott, and\u00a0Casey Affleck. The couples battle the expected frontier hardships \u2014 the bitter weather, bitter neighbors, and the bitter landscape \u2014 while Tally (Kirby) and Abigail (Waterston) fight against their emerging affections for each other, before finally giving in and embarking on a torrid affair. But judging by the trailer, things won\u2019t end well for them.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s the synopsis for\u00a0<em>The World to Come<\/em>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>In this powerful 19th century romance set in the American Northeast, Abigail (Katherine Waterston), a farmer\u2019s wife, and her new neighbor Tallie (Vanessa Kirby) find themselves irrevocably drawn to each other.
