Tiger Woods was defended by former golfer and social media<\/a> sensation Paige Spiranac ahead of the release of a blockbuster HBO documentary.<\/p>\n

A two-part film about Woods\u2019 life, called \u201cTiger,\u201d airs Sunday night.<\/p>\n

His reputation took a battering in 2009 when Rachel Uchitel was revealed to be the first of at least 12 mistresses.<\/p>\n

It led to the collapse of his marriage to Elin Nordegren, whom he had two children with.<\/p>\n

Woods\u2019 golf game<\/a> suffered as a result of the scandal and he was also dropped by a host of sponsors.<\/p>\n

Yet Spiranac, who was a professional golfer herself, believes Woods was wrongly treated as \u201ca monster\u201d and things he should not be \u2018cancelled\u2019.<\/p>\n

Speaking on her podcast<\/a>, the 27-year-old said: \u201cEven when all this was happ<\/a>ening, I think people were being too hard on him.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou look at your own life and the things you\u2019ve done, no one lives a perfect life, we all make mistakes.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not like he killed someone, he cheated. A lot of people cheat in their lifetime.<\/p>\n

\u201cProbably 99.9 percent of people have done something bad in their life.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not for people to sit on their couch and make him out to be a monster when I don\u2019t think anyone could have handled that any better than he has.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet\u2019s get rid of cancel culture and help these people, because you don\u2019t know what they are going through.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t think any of us could handle that spotlight, it\u2019s insane.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to family friend Joe Grohman, Woods saw his dad, Earl, have sex with blondes in a Winnebago RV parked next to golf courses during his childhood practice sessions.<\/p>\n

And Spiranac believes that had an impact on how his life turned out.<\/p>\n

She added: \u201cOf course he is going to have issues growing up in that environment, the fame he had, hes always been in the spotlight.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s never had a normal life.\u201d<\/p>\n

The HBO documentary said Woods\u2019 life began to spin out of control after his dad died in 2006.<\/p>\n

It is claimed that afterward he began to make wild trip<\/a>s to Vegas, partying with Michael Jordan and Charles Barkley.<\/p>\n

Spiranac also said disgraced golfer Justin Thomas \u201cshould not be cancelled\u201d after using an anti-gay slur.<\/p>\n

Thomas used the slur when he missed a putt at the Tournament of Champions in Hawaii.<\/p>\n

The world No 3 apologized after his round and admitted he felt \u201cembarrassed\u201d by his actions.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
