The 78-year-old Brooklyn woman who was found in her home with a phone cord wrapp<\/a>ed around her neck was fatally strangled, cops said Monday morning.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Juanita Caballero\u2019s son found the victim lying on the floor \u2014 with the cord around her neck \u2014 in the hallway of the Woodson Houses apartment on Powell Street near Dumont Avenue in Brownsville just before 5 p.m. Friday, according to authorities and police sources.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The senior, described as unconscious and unresponsive, was pronounced dead on scene, cops said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Her death was ruled a homicide by asphyxiation, police confirmed.\u00a0<\/p>\n

So far, no suspects have been identified, and the circumstances of the murder were unclear Monday morning.\u00a0\n <\/p><\/div>\n
