“Stephen Amell Responds to Being Called Out for ‘Racist Ways’<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

Stephen Amell has responded after comic book writer Tee Franklin called him racist.\u00a0<\/p>\n

A fan account called out the actor on Monday after he continued to host his podcast, “How’d You Do It?,” even after Grant Gustin’s decision to skip app<\/a>earing on the episode due to George Floyd’s death.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cFull disclosure: Grant Gustin was supposed to be the guest this morning,\u201d Amell shared in a video on Twitter<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n \"Stephen<\/img>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cHe very politely and calmly texted me yesterday and said that with everything going on in Los Angeles that maybe this wasn\u2019t the appropriate time to spend 45 minutes talking about how he became such a giant, lovable television star.\u201d<\/p>\n

The fan account wrote the follwing post in response, \u201cNot Grant Gustin telling Stephen Amell I\u2019m not going to be a part of your podcast while you gain ad revenue during the #BlackLivesMatter movement.\u201d<\/p>\n

Franklin then wrote on the tweet with her feelings on Amell.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cF\u2014k @StephenAmell he\u2019s been showing us his racist ass ways for quite awhile [sic] now. AND his wife [Cassandra Jean Amell],\u201d she alleged.<\/p>\n

\n \u201cAlso Grant Gustin ain\u2019t absolved, cuz he DEFINITELY didn\u2019t support & speak out for [Candice Patton].\u201d<\/p>\n

Amell later shared his thoughts on the situation.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou totally nailed me,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cHope that makes you feel better. I just followed you\u2026 so if you need something or you want to help me better understand, hit me up and we can chat!\u201d<\/p>\n

\n Clearly unimpressed with Amell’s tone, she responded:<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not sure why your tone is condescending, but I\u2019m not beat for it,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat \u2018hope that makes you feel better\u2019 ain\u2019t it, Stephen. Nothing I do or say when I call out racism makes me feel better.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not the only Black woman that\u2019s called you out, so I know you\u2019ve had these conversations,” she continued.<\/p>\n

“Silence is complicity, while playing ignorant is ludicrous. You\u2019re a father & someone in their 30\u2019s you\u2019re not new to racism & if you believe Toronto isn\u2019t racist that\u2019s your privilege.”<\/p>\n

“I shouldn\u2019t have to \u2018help you\u2019 understand the things you do and say are harmful. These are things that are learned behavior.\u201d<\/p>\n

Amell’s wife, Cassandra has yet to react to the comic book writer’s claims.\u00a0<\/p>\n
