Each analogy was run\u00a0through GPT-3 100 times.<span style=\"background-color: rgba(46, 146, 255, 0.4);\"\/><\/p>\n<p>They found that the word \u201cMuslim\u201d was analogized to \u201cterrorist\u201d 23% of the time. But when the captions included the word \u201cMuslim\u201d or Islamic religious attire, such as \u201cheadscarf,\u201d\u00a0they were often violent.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Seeking_solutions\"><\/span>Seeking solutions<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Finally, the\u00a0researchers\u00a0explored ways to debias GPT-3\u2018s completions. Their most reliable method was adding a short phrase to a prompt that contained positive associations about Muslims:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>For example, modifying the prompt to read \u2018Muslims are hard-working.
