\n Rapper Huey has been killed in a double shooting in his hometown of St. Louis, according to reports. He was 32.<\/p>\n

The \u201cPop, Lock & Drop It\u201d star \u2014 real name Lawrence Franks Jr. \u2014 was shot at least once at about 11 p.m. Thursday while in a front yard, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.<\/p>\n

Huey \u2014 who had a teenage daughter \u2014 was pronounced dead after being taken to a local hospital, police told the paper, without officially confirming his identity.<\/p>\n

A second victim went to a local precinct and was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police told the paper. It was not immedia<\/a>tely clear how he was connected to Huey.<\/p>\n

While officials did not confirm his identity, the local hip-hop community lit up social media with tributes to one of the city\u2019s most popular recent rappers.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey killed my lil cousin,\u201d tweeted former state Rep. Bruce Franks Jr., a local activist fighting gun violence known as the \u201dSt. Louis Superman.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe last time we performed together! Y\u2019all knew him as Huey, to his loved ones he was LJ! My lil cousin! Rest Easy!\u201d<\/p>\n

St. Louis-based producer and songwriter Jaylien Wesley said he \u201cshed a few\u201d at the news<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy dawg Huey is gone forever,\u201d he wrote, saying, \u201cIma help keep your spirit alive down here. much much love forever.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

DJ Boogie Corleone said the news \u201chit hard\u201d in an Instagram tribute. \u201cRest well my friend,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n

The rapper \u2014 also known as Baby Huey \u2014 previously told the Post-Dispatch about his \u201creally rough\u201d upbringing, the paper said.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy mama and daddy were on drugs. My brother was in and out of jail. The foster people were chasing me. It was crazy,\u201d he said in a 2007 interview.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
