There are many sensors on your smartphone, and two that present some privacy concerns are the camera and microphone. You don\u2019t want apps to be accessing these without your knowledge. We\u2019ll show you how to see which apps have access.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s important to routinely check up on app permissions. We\u2019ve shown you how to see an indicator when an app is accessing your camera or microphone, but now, we\u2019ll show you how to see a list of all the apps that can access these sensors.<\/p>\n

First, open the Settings menu on your Android phone or tablet by\u00a0swiping down from the top of the screen (once or twice depending on your device\u2019s manufacturer) to open the notification shade. From there, tap the gear icon.<\/p>\n

Next, go to the \u201cPrivacy\u201d section.<\/p>\n

Select \u201cPermission Manager.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Permission Manager lists all of the different permissions that apps can access. The ones we\u2019re interested in are \u201cCamera\u201d and \u201cMicrophone.\u201d Tap either one to proceed.<\/p>\n

Each one will display the apps in four sections: \u201cAllowed All the Time,\u201d \u201cOnly While in Use,\u201d \u201cAsk Every Time,\u201d and \u201cDisabled.\u201d<\/p>\n

To change these permissions, tap one of the apps from the list.<\/p>\n

Then, simply select the new permission.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s all there is to it! Now you can do this for both the Camera and Microphone permissions. This is a great way to see all of the apps that have access to these sensors in one place.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
