Neither of the kids play music, though their mother produces music videos, including the one for Beyonce\u2019s song \u201cPretty Hurts.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Kamala and Doug got together just as Cole was graduating high school. He studied psychology at Colorado College, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/cole-emhoff\/\">according to his LinkedIn profile<\/a>, before heading back to California to cut his teeth at big-time talent agency William Morris Endeavor.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"They_grew_up_in_LA\"><\/span><strong>They grew up in L.A.\u00a0<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Though their dad spent most of his childhood in Brooklyn, the Emhoff kids grew up out West, attending Wildwood High School in Los Angeles, where Ella played basketball and was on the swim team. That\u2019s around when their dad was set up on a blind date with the future VP, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.elle.com\/culture\/career-politics\/a27422434\/kamala-harris-stepmom-mothers-day\/\">who wrote in Elle Magazine<\/a> in 2019 for Mother\u2019s Day, \u201cI was already hooked on Doug, but I believe it was Cole and Ella who reeled me in.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>But once Harris became a senator in 2017, it was a tough commute. She missed Ella\u2019s high school graduation to hear James Comey\u2019s testimony in the Russia election-hacking investigation. \u201cI agonized over the scheduling conflict,\u201d Harris said in the Elle piece. She takes commissions for crocheted bucket hats, cardigans and basketball shorts via Instagram DM.
