For those who haven\u2019t heard, news<\/a> broke on Monday that the Justice League<\/em> star and his girlfriend of almost a year,\u00a0Ana De Armas<\/strong>, had split. It came as a real shock if we\u2019re being honest, as the two celebs seemed to be getting along famously on their many outings walking their dogs. She had moved into his house and was even seen having fun with his kids, despite that reportedly being a big no-no from\u00a0Jennifer Garner<\/strong> when it came to past girlfriends.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately it didn\u2019t work out, which seems to have come as a bigger blow to Ben than we realized at first. A new source is now spilling to\u00a0People<\/em> about the Ana aftermath, saying Affleck \u201chas been upset about the split\u201d:<\/p>\n

\u201cBen really wanted their relationship to work. Ana has a great energy. Ben was always very happ<\/a>y when Ana was around. She likes to stay healthy and inspired Ben to keep staying healthy too.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Something tells us that\u2019s not just about cutting out empty calories. Ben is known to have struggled with addiction problems and even went to rehab in 2018. It sounds like the lively\u00a0Knives Out<\/em> star was a real positive influence for Ben at a time in his life when he could use one.<\/p>\n

And now? Well, speaking of healthy living, we don\u2019t know what\u2019s going on with Ben at the moment, but we\u2019re noticing since the breakup news hit that he\u2019s lost an incredible amount of weight recently. We\u2019d heard a rumor he was in training to return to the role of Batman for the Flash<\/em> movie, but that doesn\u2019t make sense. He bulked up for Batfleck, he didn\u2019t slim down.<\/p>\n

And in the most recent photos, obtained by DailyMail.com<\/em><\/a> on Tuesday \u2014 the day after the breakup news, the 6\u20194 star is looking downright gaunt. Is it for another role? A side effect of cutting out the drinking for so long? Or something else..? Could he really be losing weight since the split??<\/p>\n

Some folks have called the breakup \u201camicable\u201d and even mutual, but we\u2019re now hearing from multiple sources that it was Ana who broke up with Ben.<\/p>\n

People<\/em>\u2018s source notes their relationship \u201cwas very complicated,\u201d explaining:<\/p>\n

\u201cAna is young and adventurous. When she is not working, she wants to travel<\/a>. She doesn\u2019t want to settle down in Los Angeles. Ben needs to live in L.A. since his kids do.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Awww. That\u2019s really sad; obviously Ben could never choose anyone over his kids, no matter how perfect they might be in every other way.<\/p>\n

Another source backed that up to ET<\/em>, saying Ana was the one to \u201cbreak things off\u201d \u2014 and factors of \u201cage difference\u201d and the fact their \u201clife goals and career goals weren\u2019t aligned anymore.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, this insider had another big insight to share, something we haven\u2019t heard anywhere else. They claim:<\/p>\n

\u201cAna wanted to get engaged and have children. While some friends thought they were on the path towards that, Ben ultimately isn\u2019t ready for that right now.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Yeah, we mean\u2026 We get it. He\u2019s already done that. He has three amazing children he\u2019s focused on co-parenting with his ex.<\/p>\n

Another source told the outlet it wasn\u2019t one big fight, just both realizing they were \u201cin different places in their lives\u201d:<\/p>\n

\u201cThey had little arguments and bickered like any couple but ultimately the relationship just wasn\u2019t working in the way they both wanted it to anymore. They both have a lot of love and respect for each other, but it was time for them to move on.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

It\u2019s sad, but it happens. We hope both of them can be happy \u2014 and healthy \u2014 even if that means being apart.<\/p>\n
