Ms. Lopez goes to Washington. <\/p>\n

Jennifer Lopez took a selfie with members of the National Guard as she arrived in Washington DC to perform at the Inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden. <\/p>\n

The singer posted a video on Tuesday taking a selfie with service members at the Capitol to Twitter<\/a> and Instagram<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\u201cWhat an honor to spend a few moments with these brave men and women. Thank you for your service and sacrifice,\u201d she posted. \u201cI honor you today and everyday. Tomorrow I sing for you and all Americans.\u201d <\/p>\n

In the clip, six national guardsmen posed with J.Lo. Some gave thumbs up because their face masks covered their smiles. <\/p>\n

Earlier that day, the 51-year-old posed<\/a> in front of a plane, saying she was \u201cD.C. bound.\u201d She\u2019ll be performing at the afternoon ceremony today, along with Lady Gaga and Garth Brooks. <\/p>\n

Fellow A-lister Chrissy Teigen posted a short video<\/a> of Lopez passing K Street on her way to the performance location.<\/p>\n

Because of the Capitol riots which left five people dead on Jan. 6, there is an increased military presence in DC. In advance of Inauguration Day, 25,000 national guardsmen have been deployed to the nation\u2019s capital, which is roughly double the amount of troops currently on the ground in Iraq and Afghanistan combined. <\/p>\n

Twelve members of the branch were reportedly removed from serving at the ceremony for a variety of reasons, including alarming social<\/a>-media posts and possible previous criminal activity. <\/p>\n

On Twitter, fans wished J.Lo good luck ahead of her performance. <\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019re gonna kill it tomorrow Queen, stay safe and wishing you all the best!!!\u201d a stan account posted<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI totally app<\/a>reciate this. I have 3 kids serving,\u201d wrote one user<\/a>. <\/p>\n
