Gleb Kostarev, Binance\u2019s head of operations for Russia and the CIS, confirmed the news to Cointelegraph, stating that the court hearing took place on Jan. 20.<\/p>\n<p>The latest court decision reverts a previous ruling made in 2020. In September, Binance announced that its website came on the list of prohibited websites by Russian telecom regulator Roskomnadzor. The regulator blacklisted the website based on a court decision charging the site for disseminating prohibited information. Despite the block, the website was still available in Russia without additional access tools like VPNs.<\/p>\n<p>At publishing time, the Binance website still <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ears on Roskomnadzor\u2019s list of prohibited sites, but access is not restricted.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.cointelegraph.com\/uploads\/2021-01\/830266b4-4107-4d6e-93bc-3a13b796bc39.png\"><figcaption style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Binance website on Roskomnadzor\u2019s list of prohibited sites. Source: RKN<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Kostarev said that Binance is still waiting for the court documents on the latest decision, which the company expects to receive in the next two weeks. \u201cAfter getting a document we will send a notification to remove us from the list,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The executive also said that the blacklisting has not impacted Binance\u2019s trading volumes in the Russian market. \u201cThough the September ban had no impact on our volumes in Russia, for us it was important to protect our reputation and appeal in this case,\u201d Kostarev stated.<\/p>\n<p>The blacklist reversal comes shortly after Russia officially adopted its major crypto law \u201cOn Digital Financial Assets\u201d on Jan. 1, 2021.
