There\u2019s bound to be a bunch of new ghost characters in\u00a0Ghostbusters:<\/em> Afterlife<\/em><\/strong>, but we only saw one for a\u00a0split second in the trailer. Now, our first detailed look at this new creepy critter comes by unconventional means, via a recent episode of\u2026.MasterChef Junior: Spain<\/em>?<\/p>\n

12 months of a devastating pandemic have resulted in some strange first look reveals, as cross-promotional tie-ins start to filter through before the major movies<\/a> themselves can actually make their way to theaters. Ghostbusters: Afterlife<\/em> is the latest victim of these strange circumstances.\u00a0Ghostbusters News<\/a>\u00a0spotted the slimy new specter that will terrorize the kids of\u00a0Summerville, Oklahoma in\u00a0Ghostbusters: Afterlife<\/em> in a recent episode of\u00a0MasterChef Junior<\/em> in Spain, where a\u00a0Ghostbusters-<\/em>theme<\/a>d episode brought a pool of blue slime and life-sized replicas of the Ecto-1 to the set. And, of course, the new ghost named\u00a0Muncher<\/strong>.
\nA blue blob-like monster with six limbs and an uncanny resemblance to Slimer from 1984\u2019s\u00a0Ghostbusters<\/em>, Muncher looks slightly more friendly than the original\u00a0Ghostbusters<\/em> monster, but no less gross. While we don\u2019t have a look at Muncher in action in the film, there are several good full-body shots of the ghost in the episode (along with lots of kids playing in slime).<\/p>\n

Muncher already has another promotional tie-in with Hostess, which is launching a line of Twinkies<\/a> inspired by the blue ghost. The new Ghostbuster Muncher Madness Twinkies<\/strong>\u00a0consists of golden sponge cake with a blue fruit-flavored creamy filling. Each box consists of 10 individually wrapped cakes.<\/p>\n

\u201cHostess Ghostbusters Twinkies need no introduction. Live Your Mostess with one sweet bite at a time of creamy, cakey, golden goodness. These treats aren\u2019t just for dessert. They\u2019re perfect for picking up on your way out the door, or grabbing one to enjoy a quiet moment,\u201d the description says.<\/p>\n

But it will be a little while longer before you can munch on your Muncher-inspired Twinkies while watching\u00a0Ghostbusters. Afterlife<\/em>. The long-delayed film is due to hit theaters this July, but that release date is still up in the air considering the current state of the pandemic.
\nOriginal\u00a0Ghostbusters<\/em>\u00a0cast members\u00a0Bill Murray<\/strong>,\u00a0Dan Aykroyd<\/strong>,\u00a0Ernie Hudson<\/strong>,\u00a0Sigourney Weaver<\/strong>, and\u00a0Annie Potts<\/strong>\u00a0are all slated to appear in Ghostbusters: Afterlife<\/em>, which is directed by\u00a0Jason Reitman<\/strong>, son of\u00a0Ghostbusters<\/em>\u00a0director\u00a0Ivan Reitman<\/strong>, who is producing this time. Jason Reitman also co-wrote the script with Monster House<\/em> and Poltergeist<\/em> remake director\u00a0Gil Kenan<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

When a single mom and her two kids arrive in a small town, they begin to discover their connection to the original ghostbusters and the secret legacy their grandfather left behind.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
