“#Arca Shares New Project Madre: Listen<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

Arca has shared a new four-track project titled Madre<\/em>. The Barcelona-based producer worked with frequent Radiohead collaborator Oliver Coates on the project\u2019s title track. Listen to the new collection in full below.<\/p>\n

Last year, Arca released a new 62-minute piece titled @@@@@<\/em> and followed it with the new album KiCk i<\/em> over the summer. After leading the MUTANTS VOL. 2: RIOT<\/em> compilation in September, she released 100 new remixes of her KiCk i<\/em> track \u201cRiquiqu\u00ed\u201d last month.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Arca shared a brief statement about working with Coates on Madre<\/em>:<\/p>\n

I wrote \u2018Madre\u2019 years ago, and I did \u2018Madreviolo\u2019 playing the cello myself, before working with Oliver.\u00a0 After recording ‘Madreviolo’, I destroyed the cello I bought\u00a0specifically for this. It had to be like a one-time thing for the version where I pitched up my vocal to castrati registers. But the original version with my unprocessed vocals, which felt a necessary version to share alongside Madreviolo needed an arrangement that I could envision but couldn\u2019t hear. When I shared the acapella version with Oliver there was an insane resonance and chemistry; where he took it felt like the place I dreamed of but couldn\u2019t reach without him.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n
