“#Universal and Sony Release Dates Reshuffled Post-No Time to Die \u2013 \/Film<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

In no time at all, No Time to Die<\/em> has set off a domino effect of release date reshuffles from Sony<\/strong> and Universal<\/strong>. Following yesterday\u2019s delay of the Bond flick, the release dates for Edgar Wright\u2019s\u00a0Last Night in Soho<\/em><\/strong>, the Bob Odenkirk-starring\u00a0Nobody<\/em><\/strong>,\u00a0Ghostbusters: Afterlife<\/em><\/strong>, the Tom Holland-starring\u00a0Uncharted<\/em><\/strong>, and Jared Leto\u2019s\u00a0Morbius<\/em><\/strong> have all been reshuffled.<\/p>\n

Universal and Focus Features wasted no time in reshuffling their theatrical release schedule following the six-month delay of\u00a0No Time to Die<\/em>, announcing that\u00a0Nobody<\/em>, the action flick starring Bob Odenkirk, will be moved back two months to April 2, 2021<\/strong>, per\u00a0Variety<\/a>.The revenge film was set to have a wide release on February 26, but with theaters likely remaining closed due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic through the winter (and let\u2019s be honest, through the spring too), this release date was evacuated. Meanwhile, Michael Bay\u2019s\u00a0Ambulance<\/i><\/b>\u00a0is set to receive a President\u2019s Day weekend wide release on\u00a0February 18, 2022<\/b>.\u00a0The Bay-produced and directed project stars\u00a0Jake Gyllenhaal, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Eiza Gonzalez.
\nFocus Features also announced a new date for Edgar Wright\u2019s mysterious psychological thriller\u00a0Last Night in Soho<\/em>, which is getting pushed back six months, from April 23 to\u00a0October 22, 2021<\/strong>. Set in London and written by\u00a0Wright and Krysty Wilson-Cairns,\u00a0Last Night in London<\/em> features an all-star cast that includes Anya Taylor-Joy, Thomasin Harcourt McKenzie, Matt Smith, Michael Ajao, Synn\u00f8ve Karlsen, Diana Rigg, Terence Stamp, and Rita Tushingham. Wright has been a passionate advocate for the cinematic experience, and posted about the new release date on Twitter<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Sony was quick to follow suit with Universal\u2019s release calendar reshuffles. Despite the fervor over the recently-debuted image of the ghastly new ghost from\u00a0Ghostbusters: Afterlife<\/em>, Sony has pushed back Jason Reitman\u2019s\u00a0Ghostbusters<\/em> sequel by five months to\u00a0November 11, 2021<\/strong>, its second delay after being originally slated for July 2020.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the long-delayed\u00a0Uncharted<\/em> unsurprisingly got pushed back again, all the way to next year on\u00a0February 11, 2022<\/strong>. It was originally set for mid-July 2021, though it\u2019s been in the works in some form since 2008, adding to its legacy as being a film that will probably never be released or seen by mortal eyes.
\nSony also shifted the release dates for\u00a0Morbius<\/em>, the Marvel superhero movie starring Jared Leto, which has moved to\u00a0January 21, 2022<\/strong>. Camila Cabello\u2019s\u00a0Cinderella<\/em><\/strong>, originally set for February 5, will now open in theaters on July 16, 2021<\/strong>.\u00a0Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway<\/em><\/strong> has hopped on over to a new release date again, moving from\u00a0from April 2 to June 11, 2021<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
