\n Rasheed Wallace has bad news<\/a> for Knicks fans who think the only direction the franchise can go is up.<\/p>\n

The former Knicks big man called the recent front office hirings a \u201cbrain fart,\u201d claiming that hiring a former agent in Leon Rose to be president, and his longtime friend and CAA consultant William Wesley as an executive VP, could backfire.<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean damn, it\u2019s been getting worse,\u201d Wallace said Thursday on CBS Sports Radio, when asked about the direction of the Knicks. \u201cWe all think it can\u2019t be no [worse], they\u2019re going to hit rock bottom, but they keep going lower and lower. I\u2019m just a little confused by it all, if you ask me. It\u2019s one thing to have a former agent and agency coming in and giving you their input here and there, but to hire them full time, you\u2019re taking on a lot. Because now, unfortunately [James] Dolan\u2019s taking on their baggage.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhoever they had beef with or problems with now is going to come up and affect them. Now that they got those executive positions with the Knicks, they might not get these certain players. Or just going through the grapevine because there could be other agents that could be mad with Leon Rose for trying to do this or that while he was an agent. It\u2019s going to be interesting, man. My thought is more power to them. I was with them for a while but this is just a brain fart right here.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wallace said Wesley \u201cis my guy,\u201d and didn\u2019t want to talk bad about him \u2014 unlike another former Knick, Stephon Marbury, who blasted Wesley\u2019s hiring \u2014 but said the Knicks need \u201cbasketball minds\u201d in their front office.<\/p>\n

\u201cWho are people going to trust? People are going to trust those who walked that path,\u201d Wallace said. \u201cWhen guys are sitting up there, at some point it\u2019s going to blow over because that\u2019s how it always is.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wallace brought up an assistant coach he played for on the Trail Blazers who didn\u2019t play basketball and said players didn\u2019t respect what he said because of it.<\/p>\n

Other former players, like Kendrick Perkins, Scottie Pippen and Jamal Crawford, all lauded Wesley\u2019s hiring.<\/p>\n

While Wallace said he had \u201cno beef\u201d with Dolan, whom he called \u201cdown to earth,\u201d he said the Knicks owner is not without blame for the franchise\u2019s struggles.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can blame him up to a certain degree,\u201d Wallace said. \u201cBut my thing is, he\u2019s not the one out there playing.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
