Dr.\u00a0Anthony Fauci\u00a0app<\/a>eared very gitty during his debut appearance on\u00a0\u201cThe Rachel Maddow Show\u201d\u00a0on Friday night and suggested the Trump administration previously \u201cblocked\u201d him from coming on the MSNBC program.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been wanting to come on your show for months and months,\u201d Fauci confessed to the liberal star. \u201cYou\u2019ve been asking me to come on your show for months and months and it\u2019s just gotten blocked! I mean, let\u2019s call it what it is! It just got blocked because they didn\u2019t like the way you handle things and they didn\u2019t want me on.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, it was so clear when [they] sent it down, \u2018Why would you want to go on Rachel Maddow\u2019s show?\u2019 Well, because I like her and she\u2019s really good. \u2018It doesn\u2019t make any difference. Don\u2019t do it,’\u201d Fauci continued to a chuckling Maddow.<\/p>\n

Fauci went on to tell Maddow he doesn\u2019t think she is \u201cgoing to see\u201d efforts by the Biden administration to hold him back from speaking to the press and that she\u2019ll see \u201ca lot of transparency\u201d from the new leadership in Washington.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou might not see everybody as often as you want, but you\u2019re not going to see deliberate holding back of good people when the press asks for them,\u201d Fauci explained.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Fauci, who was tapped by President Biden to be a White House adviser during the transition, previously indicated\u00a0that working for the new president has been \u201cliberating.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI can tell you I take no pleasure at all in being in a situation of contradicting the president, so it was really something that you didn\u2019t feel you could actually say something and there wouldn\u2019t be any repercussions about it,\u201d Fauci said Thursday. \u201cThe idea that you can get up here and talk about what you know, what the evidence and science<\/a> is, and know that\u2019s it \u2014 let the science speak\u00a0\u2014 it is somewhat of a liberating feeling.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n
