A police officer in Florida was fired for supporting the deadly US Capitol riot on social media and warning about imminent \u201cCivil War,\u201d according to local reports.<\/p>\n

The Kissimmee Police Department canned Andrew Johnson last week following an internal investigation into dozens of his politically-charged Facebook posts, the Orlando Sentinel reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n

One of the messages, posted on Jan. 6, the day of the insurrection, read: \u201cThe silent majority will rise!! Day one of the Revolutionary War!! Hang on, it\u2019s only just begun.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cCivil War is right around the corner,\u201d said another post from September. \u201cIt\u2019s coming, prepare for it now.\u201d<\/p>\n

Other missives mocked the Black Lives Matter movement, including a meme Johnson reportedly shared in August of a disabled parking space with the caption \u201cBLM activists in Wisconsin paint street mural in support of Jacob Blake.\u201d<\/p>\n

The police shooting of Blake \u2014 a black Wisconsin man who was left paralyzed \u2014 sparked protests in the city of Kenosha. <\/p>\n

In September, Johnson reposted\u00a0a meme about then-17-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse, who is charged with fatally shooting two protesters in Kenosha on Aug. 25. <\/p>\n

\u201cA 17-year-old dropped 3 rioters. What do you think 5 or 6 combatives will do?,\u201d the picture read \u2014 and Johnson reportedly commented \u201cI\u2019m sayin\u2026\u201d <\/p>\n

In another post, he described NBA star LeBron James as a \u201ctrue piece of [expletive],\u201d for not standing for the national anthem.<\/p>\n

Screenshots of the posts were among 30 sent to the department on Jan. 12 in an email from a \u201cconcerned citizen,\u201d the report said.<\/p>\n

The sender called Johnson \u201ca very big problem\u201d and said he \u201cis incapable of doing his job without bias[,] which as we know is a massive problem for police in this country.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cNot only is he a very big supporter of what happ<\/a>ened recently in dc[,] but as you\u2019ll see by the attached screen shots [sic] has posted some very inappropriate things,\u201d\u00a0the email said, adding: \u201c[in face-to-face conversations,] this man has said some massively concerning things as well.\u201d<\/p>\n

The internal investigation found that Johnson \u2014 who was still on probationary employment after being hired as a patrol officer in March 2020 \u2014 had authored the posts.<\/p>\n

He was placed on administrative leave without pay Jan. 12 and fired from the agency Jan. 14, after the probe found that the posts violated the department\u2019s professional standards and social media policy.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe posts he made do not align with our core values here and the Kissimmee Police Department and the decision was made to terminate this probationary employee,\u201d a spokeswoman said.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
