“#My Pillow CEO Mike Lindell permanently banned from Twitter<\/a><\/strong>”<\/p>\n

Twitter banned My Pillow CEO Mike Lindell from the platform after he used his account to spread baseless claims about fraud in the presidential election.<\/p>\n

Twitter said Tuesday that it permanently suspended Lindell \u2014 a staunch ally of former President Donald Trump \u2014 because of his \u201crepeated violations\u201d of the company\u2019s civic integrity policy, which it implemented last fall to clamp down on misinformation.<\/p>\n

Twitter didn\u2019t say which of Lindell\u2019s posts pushed it over the edge. But he had used his personal account and My Pillow\u2019s corporate account in recent months to post and share bogus rumors about widespread election fraud that app<\/a>eared aimed at undermining President Biden\u2019s victory.<\/p>\n

Lindell \u2014 who features prominently in My Pillow\u2019s TV ads \u2014 has refused to walk back the claims even though they\u2019ve been rejected by courts across the country.<\/p>\n

Dominion Voting Systems has also threatened him with a lawsuit for falsely accusing the company of \u201cstealing millions of votes.\u201d Trump and his surrogates have also propagated bogus claims about Dominion\u2019s voting machines.<\/p>\n

Lindell reportedly said last week that retail chains including Kohl\u2019s and Bed Bath & Beyond had dropped My Pillow\u2019s products after he made a trip<\/a> to the White House to discuss alleged election fraud with Trump.<\/p>\n

Twitter booted Lindell less than three weeks after it banned Trump from the platform while he was still in office, a controversial decision that raised questions about the company\u2019s power to police government officials.<\/p>\n

Twitter said at the time that Trump\u2019s posts created a \u201crisk of further incitement of violence\u201d following the Jan. 6 Capitol riots.<\/p>\n

My Pillow did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Lindell\u2019s behalf. The company\u2019s Twitter account was still active as of Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n
