The mining pool is responsible for 1.85% of the total global hash rate.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.cointelegraph.com\/uploads\/2021-01\/700166a9-717d-4c66-92b7-2d42d4b57aed.png\"><figcaption style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Source: Btc.com<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The news comes shortly after Silbert <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BarrySilbert\/status\/1349856171470057474\">announced<\/a> that global Bitcoin miners will be able to join the Foundry pool starting in February. The CEO also expressed optimism about the United States\u2019 mining power, predicting that Foundry will \u201csoon become the largest U.S.-based bitcoin mining pool.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Officially introduced by DCG in August 2020, Foundry is still far from the world\u2019s top mining pools like F2Pool and Binance Pool in terms of hash rate. China-based F2Pool \u2014 the largest mining pool, comprising 18% of the total hash rate \u2014 is generating a hash rate of more than 24 EH\/s at publishing time.<\/p>\n<p>Launched by Binance in April 2020, Binance Pool is now the second-largest mining pool, responsible for nearly 13% of total global Bitcoin mining power.
