A South Carolina restaurant\u2019s staff was left stunned when a regular left behind a $2,000 tip for them to share.<\/p>\n

The generous tipper was a diner who had been coming for years into the Eggs Up Grill in Greenville, news station KOAT reported.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cUsually he comes in and orders one of the things, and it\u2019s right around $9 or so,\u201d owner Adam Bair said.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019d leave a $20, or sometimes he\u2019d leave a $20 for a server then give another $20 and say, \u2018Give $5 to each of the guys on the grill.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

But last week he came in for his regular meal and left an envelope.<\/p>\n

Inside, there was a $2,021 tip with a note that told them to split up $421 among the staff, plus $400 each for four servers.<\/p>\n

\u201cI couldn\u2019t believe it,\u201d Bair said, adding, \u201cWe tried to go outside and thank him and he was already gone.\u201d<\/p>\n

Selene Montalvo, who is a server, said she\u2019s hoping the customer comes back soon so she can tell him how grateful she was for his act of kindness.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe paid most of my bills this month, and that\u2019s why I can\u2019t wait to see him to really thank him,\u201d Montalvo said.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
