In the early morning hours of Jan. 28, a <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Twitter<\/a> account named WSB Chairman <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/WSBChairman\/status\/1354638692640575491\">tweeted<\/a>: <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">A lot of you are talking about Dogecoin. What\u2019s that? A meme crypto?<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 WSB Chairman (@WSBChairman) <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/WSBChairman\/status\/1354638692640575491?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 28, 2021<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Shortly afterwards, members in the Wall Street Bets telegram began discussing the possibility of pushing DOGE to $1. <\/p>\n<p>According to <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TheTIEIO\/status\/1354895889177915396\">data from TheTIE<\/a>, the tweet volume for Dogecoin \u201csurpassed Bitcoin over the last 24 hours,\u201d making this the first time on record that \u201can altcoin has been tweeted about more than Bitcoin over a 24 hour period.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.cointelegraph.com\/uploads\/2021-01\/e551a5a8-49c3-4f03-9684-345f8fb5ba85.png\"><figcaption style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Dogecoin price vs. tweet volume. According to Coinbase Blog, the company will do a direct listing of its Class A common stock, making existing shares available to the public. <\/p>\n<p>North Carolina wealth manager Kingfisher Capital also made headlines after filing documents revealed that the firm had purchased 10,667 shares of the Grayscale Bitcoin Trust over the past few months. <\/p>\n<p>Several brokerage firms in the United States, including the popular mobile-based Robinhood, are receiving blowback for halting trading on stocks like GameStop (GME) and AMC Holdings Inc. (AMC), which has been the primary story of the week after a retail investor-inspired short squeeze by members of the Reddit group r\/wallstretbets pushed the prices of each stock up by hundreds of percent. <\/p>\n<p>The traditional markets also saw a bounce following a minor sell-off yesterday.
