HBO Max has announced a premiere date for the \u201cSnyder Cut\u201d of Zack Snyder\u2019s revamped 2017 movie \u201cJustice League.\u201d The full-length superhero spectacle \u2014 allegedly containing new footage \u2014 will drop March 18 on the streaming service.<\/p>\n

Snyder shared the news<\/a> in a tweet Friday, calling it a \u201cReborn #SnyderCut\u201d and tossing in the hashtag #UsUnited. With the announcement, HBO Max also released a series<\/a> of stark, primarily black-and-white promotional posters.<\/p>\n

The official synopsis gets super detailed about what fanatics should expect:<\/p>\n

\u201cDetermined to ensure Superman\u2019s (Henry Cavill) ultimate sacrifice was not in vain, Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) aligns forces with Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) with plans to recruit a team of metahumans to protect the world from an app<\/a>roaching threat of catastrophic proportions. The task proves more difficult than Bruce imagined, as each of the recruits must face the demons of their own pasts to transcend that which has held them back, allowing them to come together, finally forming an unprecedented league of heroes. Now united, Batman (Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and The Flash (Ezra Miller) may be too late to save the planet from Steppenwolf, DeSaad and Darkseid and their dreadful intentions.\u201d<\/p>\n

The director\u2019s supporters have long pushed for Snyder to #ReleaseTheSnyderCut after the much-maligned Joss Whedon stepped in to finish the widely panned film following a death<\/a> in Snyder\u2019s family.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Last July, Snyder teased a 30-second \u201csneak peek\u201d at his retooling. And during a ComicCon panel last summer, Snyder implied<\/a> there \u201cwould be no chance on Earth\u201d that he would use any of Whedon\u2019s footage in his planned retooling.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019d destroy the movie, I would set it on fire before I would use a single frame that I did not photograph,\u201d Snyder said. \u201cThat is a f \u2013 \u2013 king hard fact.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n
