“#Baki Gaiden Novel Gets Anime<\/a> Adaptation<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

Baku Yumemakura, the author of the spin-off Baki illustrated novel <\/span>Y\u016benchi: Baki Gaiden<\/span><\/i>, announced that a \u201cmartial arts novel\u201d of his will receive an anime adaptation. The announcement was made in the 2021 ninth issue of Akita Shoten\u2019s Weekly Shonen Champion.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

It is unknown if the \u201cmartial arts novel\u201d refers to <\/span>Y\u016benchi: Baki Gaiden<\/span><\/i>, which includes app<\/a>earances by characters from Yumemakura\u2019s <\/span>Gar\u014dden<\/span><\/i><\/a> and <\/span>Shishi no Mon<\/span><\/i> novels. In 2018, Yumemakura revealed that his Chimera novels were <\/span>being adapted <\/span>into an anime movie by <\/span>Ghost in the Shell<\/span><\/i>\u2019s Mamoru Oshii.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The original <\/span>Baki The Grappler<\/span><\/i> manga ran in the Weekly Sh\u014dnen Champion magazine from 1991 to 1999, with 42 tankobon volumes. The series<\/a> also received two television anime seasons and an OVA volume. A third Baki series, titled <\/span>Baki Hanma<\/span><\/i>,<\/span> was also announced to be in production last year.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
