President Biden\u2019s embrace of utter nonsense pushed by the \u201cwoke\u201d continued with last week\u2019s executive orders to \u201cadvance racial equity\u201d and \u201croot out systemic racism in housing and criminal justice.\u201d<\/p>\n

The \u201cequity\u201d app<\/a>roach assumes that any outcome that doesn\u2019t meet inane racial quotas is the result of bias. It is, in fact, systematically racist.<\/p>\n

The four executive orders Biden signed Tuesday don\u2019t seem that earth-shattering. He directed the Department of Housing and Urban Development \u201cto take steps necessary to redress racially discriminatory federal housing policies,\u201d told the Justice Department to stop using private prisons, recommitted the feds to honoring tribal sovereignty and vowed to combat \u201cracism, xenophobia and intolerance against Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders.\u201d<\/p>\n

But, as the White House put it, his many \u201cequity\u201d orders set up \u201ca whole-of-government initiative to address racial equity and support underserved communities, and redress systemic racism in federal policies, laws and programs.\u201d He\u2019ll also require \u201call agencies to take affirmative steps to promote diversity, equity and inclusion.\u201d<\/p>\n

Notice that repeated word, \u201cequity.\u201d Liberals used to call (rightly) for equality of opportunity \u2014 to have every American treated the same way before the law. \u201cEquity\u201d demands equal outcomes. If some group of Americans is doing better than another, no matter the reason, government must fix it. <\/p>\n

Tellingly, Biden in announcing his orders<\/a> actually corrected his own use of the \u201cwrong\u201d term: \u201cI believe this nation and this government need to change their whole approach to the issue of racial equal \u2014 equity.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Per the White House, Biden is bent on \u201cembedding racial equity across his administration\u2019s response to COVID-19 and the economic crisis.\u201d That extends to de-facto quotas for small-business support \u2014\u00a0making federal aid depend on skin color.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s un-American, but the White House said these steps are \u201cjust the start.\u201d<\/p>\n

True: Some minorities have been harder hit by responses to the pandemic. Public-school shutdowns and lame \u201cremote learning\u201d efforts hit hardest at lower-income families who can\u2019t afford private tutors or private schools. But Team Biden is adamantly against school choice, which would give such families real opportunity to get their kids a quality education. And the president has already declined to criticize the Chicago Teachers Union for refusing to go along with school reopening.<\/p>\n

In short, Biden\u2019s not fighting against racial injustice \u2014\u00a0he\u2019s just giving Democratic interest groups and ideologues what they demand.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
