A top veteran CNN exec says the network\u2019s liberal weekly news<\/a> show \u201cReliable Sources\u2019\u2019 needs to be more balanced by adding conservative guests.<\/p>\n

Rick Davis \u2014 founding executive producer of the show and CNN\u2019s longest-serving executive \u2014 was asked by \u201cReliable Sources\u201d host Brian Stelter how the cable giant would make the show better while speaking about his upcoming retirement Sunday.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think you need to strive to have more voices on the show from right of center \u2014 responsible voices from right of center,\u201d said Davis, the cable network\u2019s outgoing vice president of standards and practices.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd occasionally, when you can, you want to have some newsmakers on who can express to you how they feel about the media<\/a>, particularly if they feel like the media got it wrong. And let them talk about it,\u201d Davis said.<\/p>\n

Stelter nodded as Davis spoke.<\/p>\n

\u201cHmm,\u2019\u2019 Stelter said. \u201cTo hear what it\u2019s like to be in the glare.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, you\u2019ve still got the producing chops in you, Rick, no doubt about that!\u201d said the host, who hailed Davis as a \u201cliving legend\u201d and \u201cCNN original\u201d before wrapp<\/a>ing up the segment.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
