\n The leader of a group that fought against Maryland\u2019s coronavirus lockdown measures is now seriously sick from the contagion \u2014 but refusing to help contact tracers, according to reports.<\/p>\n

Tim Walters, the co-founder of ReOpen Maryland, whose protests included flashmobs of people without masks, revealed in a video that he \u201ccrashed\u201d last Wednesday and \u201chad to go to the emergency room.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI thought I was actually having a stroke \u2026 turns out I had COVID,\u201d he said, asking for prayers.<\/p>\n

Walters, a two-time Republican candidate for the General<\/a> Assembly, warned friends to keep an eye on possible symptoms \u2014 but insisted he would not help official contact tracers, according to Capital Gazette.<\/p>\n

\u201cI will not share anybody\u2019s information with the government. I will not do it,\u201d he said in other since-deleted videos, according to Capital Gazette.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI did the right thing and contacted everyone I could think of that I had contact with \u2026 I don\u2019t know what more the Government could do,\u201d he later told Wrongthink Radio. \u201cIt isn\u2019t my business to give other people\u2019s information to the government.\u201d<\/p>\n

He later told Maryland\u2019s Daily Record that he had to remove some of his videos because his wife and son were targeted with \u201cvitriolic messages,\u201d with some praying for his family\u2019s death, he said.<\/p>\n

Despite how sick he felt, he said it \u201chasn\u2019t changed\u201d his views against the lockdowns.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn the end, I think everyone is going to get it, anyway,\u201d he told the Daily Record.<\/p>\n

\u201cI knew this was a possibility and I got sick. OK, I\u2019m going to take accountability for it,\u201d he told the paper.<\/p>\n

Walters also insisted it has not changed his view on masks, saying \u201cthere\u2019s too much proof that masks don\u2019t work.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019re not really going to do anything,\u201d he told the Daily Record, insisting he has \u201cno idea\u201d how or when he got sick.<\/p>\n

Calling the contagion \u201ccapricious,\u201d he also called it Satan\u2019s attempt to \u201cstifle my voice.\u201d<\/p>\n

Instead, he plans to continue preaching his message on social media<\/a>, he said \u2014 including his ongoing resolve to fight official stay-at-home and mask-wearing orders.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have to decide as a nation if this fear is worth our liberties because once we lose them, we don\u2019t get them back,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnybody that\u2019s waiting for the government to tell them to do the right thing because they couldn\u2019t figure it out, they\u2019re going to be sorely disapp<\/a>ointed,\u201d Walters said.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
