That\u2019s how great filmmaker and actor pairing h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>en. If they also make creative works unlike anything else in the business, let alone anything you\u2019re offered, and they\u2019ve gotten an Oscar-nominated performance out of you, all the better. It\u2019s no wonder that <strong>Emma Stone<\/strong> is reuniting with <strong>Yorgos Lanthimos<\/strong> for two upcoming film projects.<\/p>\n<p>The first one isn\u2019t something that will be widely seen, unfortunately. Announced a year ago, Lanthimos was invited to create a special installation for the Greek National Opera and the Greek cultural nonprofit Neon (no connection to the film distributor) as part of their <em>The Artist on the Composer<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a>. Stone stars in the short film alongside Damien Bonnard (<em>Les Mis\u00e9rables<\/em>), which <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/neon.org.gr\/en\/exhibition\/the-artist-on-the-composer-yorgos-lanthimos-en\/\">is scheduled<\/a> to be presented with a live orchestra this September after being delayed from last year.<\/p>\n<p>The second project is Lanthimos\u2019 next feature, which has been <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/thediegoandaluz\/status\/1355954857937686530\">listed in <em>Production Weekly<\/em><\/a> as coming together for a fall 2021 shoot. Stone will star in the film, an adaptation of Alasdair Gray\u2019s postmodern Victorian-era-set novel <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.goodreads.com\/book\/show\/72355.Poor_Things\"><em><strong>Poor Things<\/strong><\/em><\/a>, as a pregnant woman who drowns herself to escape her abusive husband and is then resurrected, <em>Frankenstein<\/em>-style, but her brain has been replaced by that of her unborn child. What, you thought the plot of a Lanthimos film would be anything but bizarre?<\/p>\n<p>It also <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.goodreads.com\/book\/show\/72355.Poor_Things\">doesn\u2019t sound <\/a>like<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.goodreads.com\/book\/show\/72355.Poor_Things\"> something<\/a> that could net Stone another Oscar nomination, but that may just be because it sounds like a ridiculous broad comedy in which a woman has the brain of a baby. I think there\u2019s a <em>Saturday Night Live<\/em> sketch with that very premise, but with a man. Stone has the comedic chops to make it work if it was that, and she\u2019s got the dramatic talent to make something more substantial of the idea, too. She\u2019s had quite the evolution from her teen comedy days to Oscar glory, but she\u2019s not one to leave the funny stuff behind either.<\/p>\n<p>Stone received her last Oscar nomination, for Best Supporting Actress, in 2019 for Lanthimos\u2019 <em>The Favourite<\/em>, where I think she\u2019s technically the lead. Prior to that, two years earlier, she won an Oscar for Best Actress for her co-lead role in Damien Chazelle\u2019s musical <em>La La Land<\/em> (she was to also reunite with Chazelle this year but had to drop out of his next movie, <em>Babylon<\/em>, for scheduling reasons). Her first nomination was two years prior to that with a supporting role in Alejandro G. I\u00f1\u00e1rritu <em>Birdman<\/em>. She\u2019s broken the pattern by not having something Oscar-ready this year.<\/p>\n<p><em>Poor Things <\/em>will be scripted by <strong>Tony McNamara<\/strong>, who also co-wrote <em>The Favourite<\/em> and Stone\u2019s upcoming Disney movie <em>Cruella<\/em>, and released by <em>The Favourite<\/em> distributor, Searchlight Pictures.
