“#Ramin Djawadi to Compose Prequel \u2013 \/Film<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

Ramin Djawadi<\/strong>, the Emmy-winning composer of HBO\u2019s mega-hit fantasy series<\/a> Game<\/a> of Thrones<\/em><\/strong>, has booked a return trip<\/a> to Westeros.<\/p>\n

Djawadi has signed on to compose the score for House of the Dragon<\/strong><\/em>, the premium cable channel\u2019s upcoming prequel series that follows members of the Targaryen dynasty and is set 300 years before the events of Game of Thrones<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The composer is only the third person who did significant work on the original show to join the team on\u00a0House of the Dragon<\/em> (so far). The other two are George R.R. Martin<\/strong>, who co-created this new series with Ryan Condal<\/strong> (Colony<\/em>) and wrote the novels on which all Game of Thrones<\/em> content is based, and Miguel Sapochnik<\/strong>, who directed many of the original show\u2019s biggest episodes and who will serve as a co-showrunner alongside Condal.
\nDjawadi\u2019s House of the Dragon<\/em> score should be able to create some cool aural links between the two shows, and it seems like a certainty that we\u2019re going to hear some sort of altered version of the Targaryen theme<\/a> playing during key moments of the prequel series. Here\u2019s what the Game of Thrones version sounded like, and I\u2019ll be curious to hear if he\u2019ll try to make the new music sound somehow even more ancient to reflect the difference in time period:<\/p>\n
