Last fall, the once and former Star Wars<\/em> actor Ewan McGregor<\/strong> confirmed that Obi-Wan Kenobi<\/strong><\/em>, the Disney+ show in which he\u2019ll reprise the title role, will begin filming in March of this year. Now McGregor has provided some more Obi-Wan Kenobi<\/em> updates, upending recent rumors about the location of the production and confirming that filming will take place in sunny California.<\/span><\/p>\n

Comedia<\/a>n Eddie Izzard<\/strong> spent January on a treadmill and accomplished the absolutely bonkers feat of running 31 marathons in 31 days over the course of the last month, interviewing folks virtually while in the middle of a lengthy run. One of the people Izzard interviewed during the final marathon was Ewan McGregor, who gave a couple of brief updates regarding the upcoming Obi-Wan<\/em> show that\u2019s slated to hit Disney+. \n\u201cWe start making it in the late spring, and I think we\u2019re going to be shooting it here in L.A.,\u201d McGregor said. \u201cIt\u2019s so funny \u2013 every week there\u2019s a new report\u2026there\u2019s another tabloid expose that we\u2019re shooting it in some bizarre town somewhere. Then we\u2019re meant to be making it in Boston, then, \u2018No, it wasn\u2019t Boston, it was Boston, England.\u2019 But we\u2019re not. We\u2019re shooting it in L.A.\u201d There you have it, folks.<\/p>\n

He also confirmed again that they\u2019re going to be filming it in the same way that The Mandalorian<\/em> has been shot using the StageCraft technology<\/a>, and called director Deborah Chow<\/strong> \u201cbrilliant\u201d and said he was \u201creally looking forward to working with her.\u201d He then reminisced about how far technology has come since he was filming Revenge of the Sith<\/em> back in 2003.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe idea of doing it now is even more exciting than it was then, I think,\u201d McGregor said. \u201cI\u2019m thrilled to get a chance to play him again. I\u2019ve always felt that there was a story about him between [the prequels] and Alec Guinness\u2019s [movie], and yeah, that\u2019s what we\u2019re going to do.\u201d<\/p>\n

Joby Harold<\/strong>\u00a0(King Arthur: Legend of the Sword<\/em>) is writing the series, and it was announced late last year that Hayden Christensen<\/strong> will be joining the series to play Darth Vader.
