\nSo, we totally got the Erika Jayne<\/strong> and Tom Girardi<\/strong> divorce scoop back in December (not to mention their alleged fraud and embezzlement accusations). But now, there\u2019s something even more inneresting happ<\/a>ening with the Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills<\/em> star\u2019s ex.<\/p>\n

During a hearing on February 1, the courts named Tom\u2019s 77-year-old brother, Robert Girardi<\/strong>, temporary conservator of the estate \u2014 which, strangely enough, instantly reminded us of a certain 2000s pop icon who\u2019s currently facing her own issues with her father\u2019s control of her assets. Unlike Britney Spears<\/strong>, however, Tom seems to welcome the decision \u2014 but is it because he\u2019s in a much more dire place mentally? Or a more nefarious reason??<\/p>\n

ET<\/em> obtained court docs which state Tom couldn\u2019t be present during the hearing due to an alleged medical issue, and what\u2019s even more alarming is this seems like it\u2019s an ongoing condition inflicting the 81-year-old. Per the court documents:<\/p>\n

\u201cThe court finds it necessary to hold the hearing in the absence of the Proposed Temporary Conservatee to prevent harm.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

They also read:<\/p>\n

\u201cHis short-term memory is severely compromised and, on information and belief, he is often not oriented as to date, time or place.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

They go on to say specifically that Tom is \u201cunable to handle his financial affairs and protect his property at present, despite serious financial and legal problems.\u201d<\/p>\n

Apparently,\u00a0 because of all the memory issues, his brother filed for the conservatorship position a month ago amidst his divorce proceedings with 49-year-old Jayne. Hmm\u2026<\/p>\n

Initially, Erika claimed she was leaving because she caught her husband frolicking with other women and cheating on her. But back in December a lawsuit against the couple called the whole divorce a sham \u201d to fraudulently protect Tom and Erika\u2019s money.\u201d Remember, we\u2019re talking about millions of dollars<\/em> various people claim he owes them in lawsuits \u2014 he\u2019s even been accused of running a Ponzi scheme on them!<\/p>\n

If that\u2019s true, couldn\u2019t this sudden conservatorship be just\u00a0another<\/em> legal loophole they\u2019re using to protect their ill-gotten gains??<\/p>\n

Maybe. But they\u2019re sticking to the story, and so are their PR people. According to a source that spoke with ET, Girardi hasn\u2019t been feeling well for a very long time. And yet\u2026 frolicking with other women. Huh.<\/p>\n
