\n The White House said Sunday that President Trump didn\u2019t hear someone shouting \u201cwhite power\u201d in a now-deleted retweet of a pro-Trump rally in Florida.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe did not hear the one statement made on the video. What he did see was tremendous enthusiasm from his many supporters,\u201d White House spokesman Judd Deere said.<\/p>\n

The president had retweeted the video early Sunday showing a parade of Trump supporters in golf carts outfitted with \u201cTrump 2020\u201d and \u201cMake America Great Again\u201d signs in The Villages, a retirement community in central Florida near Orlando.<\/p>\n

\u201cThank you to the great people of The Villages,\u201d the president posted alongside the clip. \u201cThe Radical Left Do Nothing Democrats will Fall in the Fall. Corrupt Joe is shot. See you soon!!!\u201d<\/p>\n

At the beginning of the roughly two-minute video, a protester calls out: \u201cRaise your white voice.\u201d<\/p>\n

A man in a golf cart responds by shouting: \u201cWhite power.\u201d<\/p>\n

The video also shows anti-Trump protesters, who can also be heard yelling out \u201cNazi,\u201d \u201cracist,\u201d and \u201cf\u2013k\u00a0Trump.\u201d<\/p>\n

The White House said in its statement that Trump is a \u201cbig fan of The Villages.\u201d<\/p>\n

The tweet had been deleted by noon.<\/p>\n

Sen. Tim Scott, the sole black Republican senator, said earlier the president shouldn\u2019t have retweeted the video.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s no question he should not have retweeted it and he should just take it down,\u201d Scott of South Carolina said on CNN\u2019s \u201cState of the Union.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe entire thing was offensive, certainly the comments about the white power was offensive. There\u2019s no question.\u201d<\/p>\n

The golf cart rally was held to celebrate Trump\u2019s 74th birthday on June 14, according to The Villages Daily Sun.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
