Embracer Group has entered into an agreement to acquire Aspyr Media through its wholly owned subsidiary Saber Interactive, the company announced<\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n

Aspyr Media is a publisher and developer with over 24 years of experience and a team of 140 staff. Following the acquisition, it will act as a standalone entity under Saber Interactive.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have been a fan of Aspyr for longer than I have been in the industry,\u201d said Saber Interactive CEO and director of the Embracer Group board Matthew Karch in a press release. \u201c[Founders] Michael [Rogers] and Ted [Staloch] are true entrepreneurs that have built a business by identifying and exploiting opportunity where no one else saw it. They are a perfect fit for Embracer and I am proud to now call them partners. Together we will be able to greatly expand our development and publishing activities here in the US. According to the press release, Aspyr Media \u201chas an exciting pipeline and is looking to build on its\u2019 vast catalogue during the next few years as well as to bring out new content based on multiple licensed IP.\u201d Several games are in development, including \u201cone major ongoing game development project with an approximate budget of USD $70 million hat is expected to become an important for the entire group.\u201d<\/p><\/div>\n
