Luke Evans<\/strong> is the latest actor to join the\u00a0Nine Perfect Strangers<\/em><\/strong> cast. The new Hulu series<\/a> is a dark, gritty reboot of the classic sitcom\u00a0Perfect Strangers<\/em>, and Evans is set to play Cousin Balki. Oh, no, my mistake.\u00a0Nine Perfect Strangers<\/em> is actually a new thriller based on the book by\u00a0Liane Moriarty, author of\u00a0Big Little Lies<\/em>. Evans joins a cast that includes Nicole Kidman<\/strong> and\u00a0Melissa McCarthy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

According to Deadline, Luke Evans is joining the cast of Hulu\u2019s\u00a0Nine Perfect Strangers<\/em>. The limited series is adapted from the book by Liane Moriarty, author of\u00a0Big Little Lies<\/em>, and app<\/a>ropriately enough, multiple people involved with the\u00a0Big Little Lies<\/em> series are involved with this as well: David E. Kelley<\/strong>, Bruna Papandrea\u2019s Made Up Stories, and Nicole Kidman\u2019s Blossom Films. Here\u2019s the book\u2019s synopsis:<\/p>\n

Nine people gather at a remote health resort. Some are here to lose weight, some are here to get a reboot on life, some are here for reasons they can\u2019t even admit to themselves. Amidst all of the luxury and pampering, the mindfulness and meditation, they know these ten days might involve some real work. But none of them could imagine just how challenging the next ten days are going to be. Frances Welty, the formerly best-selling romantic novelist, arrives at Tranquillum House nursing a bad back, a broken heart, and an exquisitely painful paper cut. She\u2019s immedia<\/a>tely intrigued by her fellow guests. Most of them don\u2019t look to be in need of a health resort at all. But the person that intrigues her most is the strange and charismatic owner\/director of Tranquillum House. Could this person really have the answers Frances didn\u2019t even know she was seeking? Should Frances put aside her doubts and immerse herself in everything Tranquillum House has to offer \u2013 or should she run while she still can? It\u2019s not long before every guest at Tranquillum House is asking exactly the same question.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The series is written by Kelley, John Henry Butterworth<\/strong>, and Samantha Strauss<\/strong>, with Kelley and Butterworth acting as co-showrunners. Evans is playing one of the nine perfect strangers, Lars. In addition to Kidman and McCarthy, the cast also includes\u00a0The Good Place<\/em> actor\u00a0Manny Jacinto<\/strong>. Hulu hopes to premiere the series in 2021<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
