Tom Moore is in his sixth decade as an NFL coach. Thirty-nine different quarterbacks have thrown touchdown passes on his watch.<\/p>\n

Moore, 82, worked for Steelers head coach Chuck Noll in Pittsburgh, where he was Lynn Swann\u2019s receivers coach. Noll died in 2014, and Swann, since retiring as a player, has gone through careers as a TV host, a politician and the USC athletic director.<\/p>\n

Moore was Barry Sanders\u2019 offensive coordinator in Detroit and Peyton Manning\u2019s offensive coordinator in Indianapolis. Sanders is in the Hall of Fame and Manning will be voted in this week.<\/p>\n

Moore, meanwhile, is still doing what he always has been doing: Coaching.<\/p>\n

Super Bowl LV will be his fifth time coaching in the sport\u2019s biggest game<\/a>. He won two rings with the Steelers and went 1-1 with Manning and the Colts.<\/p>\n

On Sunday, as a Buccaneers offensive consultant and head coach Bruce Arians\u2019 right-hand man, Moore will be trying to help Tom Brady win his record seventh Super Bowl in 10 app<\/a>earances.<\/p>\n

And if he does that, don\u2019t expect Moore to ride off into retirement in a custom-made golf cart straight to the first tee. He\u2019ll have none of that.<\/p>\n

Moore, who once told a reporter he\u2019ll never retire because that would mean \u201changing around old people,\u2019\u2019 said: \u201cThere is absolutely nothing about not working that turns me on. I want to coach as long as I can, as long as someone will hire me. I want to come back next year, and the next year, and the next year and the next year.\u201d<\/p>\n

Win or lose on Sunday, expect Arians to invite Moore back for next season.<\/p>\n

If you listen to the Tampa Bay players, you realize that, among Moore\u2019s countless gifts as a coach, perhaps the most impressive one is his ability to relate to the younger generation of players despite being old enough to be their great grandfather.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s kind of a football encyclopedia,\u2019\u2019 Brady said.<\/p>\n

\u201cCoach Moore is an NFL history book,\u2019\u2019 Bucs receiver Mike Evans said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI make it a point to spend time with him and pick his brain a little bit,\u2019\u2019 Bucs receiver Chris Godwin said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI go in and visit with him every day and learn something, and anytime I go into his office, I\u2019ve got a notepad and pencil with me,\u2019\u2019 Bucs special teams coach Keith Armstrong said.<\/p>\n

\u201cGoogle cannot provide you the experience that Tom Moore has,\u2019\u2019 former Jets quarterback Chad Pennington, now a high school coach who knows Moore from playing against his Colts, told The Post. \u201cThat\u2019s another form of the wisdom that a guy like Bruce Arians has: To say, \u2018I know all of our young bucks think they have all the answers because they\u2019ve got Google and YouTube<\/a>, but these old hats, man, there\u2019s a lot of jewels there that you can learn from.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen you and I grew up, we got our information from the older generation. This generation does not need us for information. They have information at their fingertips. But what they still need the older generation for is for interpretation, because life experience and their wisdom is not equal to the information that they\u2019re consuming. They don\u2019t know what to do with it.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n

Enter Moore, whom Arians calls \u201ca sage\u2019\u2019 and \u201ca true legend.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n

Arians\u2019 history with Moore began when they first worked together with the Colts in 1998. He said his plan, if he ever became a head coach, always was to hire Moore as an assistant. He recalled randomly bumping into Moore at the Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., one year and asking him how he was doing.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just birdied 17 at TPC Sawgrass,\u2019\u2019 Moore told Arians.<\/p>\n

\u201cI asked him what he was doing and he said he had both of his knees replaced and told me, \u2018I feel fantastic; I really want to coach again,\u2019 \u2019\u2019 Arians said. \u201cI told him, \u2018If I get a job, you\u2019ve got one.\u2019 \u2019\u2019<\/p>\n

When Arians was hired as the Cardinals\u2019 head coach in 2013, one of the first calls he made was to Moore, who joined him there as his assistant head coach. When Arians was hired by the Buccaneers last year, he again called Moore.<\/p>\n

\u201cA lot of people can hardly wait to retire,\u2019\u2019 Moore said. \u201cI\u2019ll never retire. I\u2019m 82 years old, feel like 52 and act like 32. I\u2019m going to work because I enjoy working. Eventually nobody will hire me.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n

If and when that time comes, it\u2019ll be their loss.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe game of football has probably kept Tom Moore young,\u2019\u2019 Pennington said. \u201cIt still challenges him mentally. It\u2019s a great marriage for both Tom and the Bucs.\u2019\u2019\n <\/p><\/div>\n
