“#Michelle Williams Cast As Peggy Lee in Todd Haynes-Directed Biopic<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

Michelle Williams has been cast as Peggy Lee in a forthcoming biopic, according to The Hollywood Reporter<\/em><\/a>. Todd Haynes, who previously worked with Williams on the Bob Dylan-centric I\u2019m Not Here<\/em>, is set to direct the project. \u00a0<\/p>\n

The Hollywood Reporter<\/em> notes that Fever<\/em> is based on a Nora Ephron screenplay, but that the project was shelved after her death in 2012. Billboard<\/em> reports<\/a> that Billie Eilish is also in talks<\/a> to join Fever<\/em> as an executive producer. Peggy Lee established herself as a big-band singer in the early 1940s, writing nearly 300 songs and maintaining a prolific career as a songwriter and entertainer. Her many hits included \u201cFever,\u201d \u201cIs That All There Is,\u201d and \u201cRockin\u2019 Around the Christmas Tree.\u201d She died in 2002 at age 81.<\/p>\n

In 2017, Deadline<\/em> reported that Williams had been cast as Janis Joplin<\/a> in a biopic app<\/a>roved by the late singer\u2019s estate. The movie had permission to use two dozen of Joplin\u2019s songs, but no further release details have been announced.<\/p>\n
