Staten Island Rep. Nicole Malliotakis was one of just 11 House Republicans on Thursday night to vote with Democrats to strip<\/a> Marjorie Taylor Greene of her committee assignments. <\/p>\n

Greene has been under fire from Democrats in the House and some Senate Republicans, including Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, for espousing Qanon conspiracy theories.<\/p>\n

Of the many bizarre theories proposed by Greene was one during a 2018 speech when she questioned whether a plane crashed into the Pentagon on 9\/11.<\/p>\n

Malliotakis\u2019 district, which includes Staten Island and parts of southern Brooklyn, is home to many firefighters who responded to Ground Zero. <\/p>\n

More than 270 Staten Islanders died in the terror attacks. <\/p>\n

Malliotakis has faced her own criticism for objecting the 2020 election results in Arizona and Pennsylvania during the Electoral College vote that took place after a mob stormed the Capitol in a deadly security breach.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
